The Cuddle Cone soft elizabethan collar is great for injuries, hot spots and other skin conditions and for post surgery recovery. It can also be used as a training and grooming aid. The flexible collar won't make noise or cause alarm when bumped against furniture, walls, or people. The sturdy-yet-soft cone shaped e-collar is made of a moisture resistant foam core, lined with high-quality fleece to "cuddle" your pet's head. The outside of the cone is covered in colorful printed fabric, to ensure that your pet is both comfortable and stylish. The e-collar has velcro closures and optional collar loops to ensure a proper fit.

Much more comfortable!
Much more comfortable than the plastic collar received fro the doctor's office!I've attached a photo to show the depth (neck to nose) of the size XS we purchased (a bit over 4 inches). The plastic medical cone measured the same. These were purchased for 6 1/2 month old kittens from two different litters (thus slightly different in build) weighing between 8 1/2 pounds and just under 7 1/2 pounds.Comparisons:The plastic medical cone from the vet was almost 2 inches longer front end to end (thus providing a larger cone area, which allowed my kitten to fit the cone over his food bowl a bit better. The cloth cone dipped into his moist food a bit, and the food smeared onto the edge of the cone. The plastic can, of course, wipe clean, the cloth is washable, but you lose use of it until dry again. (I was able to wipe the moist food off, as I got to it immediately, however, as on any other article of clothing soiled with food, I know it is not completely clean until laundered). The cloth cone is so soft! He immediately lay down on his side and stretched. :) As his surgery was moved up by three days, the cloth cone was not here in time for him, so he was already versed in cone wear due to wearing the plastic cone received fro the vet.The soft loops on the cloth cone are so much better than the sharp plastic loops on the plastic cone. The cloth blocks his view, of course. I am not sure if that is a pro or a con...the plastic cone distorted his view and he would shake his head as if to clear his vision...but he was able to see out of it. The lack of peripheral vision in the cloth cone doesn't seem to bother him as much as the distortion created by the plastic cone, though. The cloth cone closes with hook and loop tapes (Velcro), so I don't have to pull it over his poor little ears to remove or replace it. That is a BIG boon! I cannot vouch for how sturdy the velcro holds, as he has not (yet) attempted to remove it. Like I mentioned, he is on day 3 as a cone-wearer but on his first day was able to remove the expensive inflatable cone as well as the plastic cone several times each. If he does pull the velcro apart, I will use come up with something (probably stitch it closed most of the way. It will still be softer to pull over his little ears than the permanently closed plastic one is.)Tomorrow, we'll see how a new cone-user reacts, when the second kitty has his neutering. :( Poor babies.

plus it was super soft. He ended up wearing it for 2 ...
The Cuddle Cone was a true lifesaver in our home! Our mini schnauzer had surgery on a front leg and just wouldn't leave it alone! After all of us enduring 3 days in a plastic cone (which he figured out how to use to re-injure his leg), I was literally at my wits end! But the Cuddle Cone saved the day! He could sleep in it, drink and eat in it, and even play in it, plus it was super soft. He ended up wearing it for 2 months solid, but we are glad to say that his leg is healed and we owe all to the Cuddle Cone!

I wound up later getting the Comfy Cone and am much happier with the design and material
You may want to also look at the Comfy Cone. The fabric on this one is not as water resistant, so it's not what you'll want if you have a dog that drools. I wound up later getting the Comfy Cone and am much happier with the design and material.

Best cone by far easy to put on and take off. Soft yet firm enough to work.
We tried a few different cones and this one is by far the best. Our dog is very comfortable with the cone on and it is very effective. We recommend this to any small dog owners.

Great product; soft, comfortable, safe
This is a very safe, soft, comfortable cone. The loops keep the cone securely in place on the collar. The Velcro closures on the "seam" give you some flexibility in how large or small the cone ends up being. Our dog (80 lb Lab) fits nicely in the XL. She pawed at it just a bit when we first put it on her but she quickly left it alone and was not able to paw it loose. The plastic cone she wore home from the vet completely freaked her but she willingly accepts the cuddle cone and seems comfortable in it. Good product.

Five Stars
My dog did not have the surgery, so the item was returned. There was no problem with the return.

plus is warm and comfortable for my dog
We live in Minnesota and a plastic cone is so brittle and cold, the cuddle cone does the job, plus is warm and comfortable for my dog.
