I thought the other reviewers may have been using the product too quickly/carelessly or at too much of an angle at the skin, so I gave this a shot as I thought the teeth of this comb would be able to penetrate tangled fur more easily than a blunt-tipped comb. It turns out that the other reviews are correct, this is a very sharp comb that is very difficult to use without hurting the dog, even my dog who is not sensitive to grooming at all.I started off almost parallel to the dog's coat in an easy area along his back. Dog was okay but it didn't pick up anything. I slowly increased the angle to the coat to the minimum possible that would still get into the undercoat. The millisecond the teeth touched the dog's skin he jumped up like he had been touched by a set of needles, which is exactly what I had just done. I didn't have a protractor handy but the angle was still within 5-10 degrees from being parallel to the dog's coat.Feathers are always challenging on my dog; I don't know why but they are always tangled and, even though he lets me work this area, my dog is always uncomfortable with blunt-tipped combs (like the Safari rake) used to untangle it. Tthis comb, with its pointed teeth, was more effective than thr blunt-tipped rake due to its thin and pointed teeth. I start at the base and brushed out so there would be zero chance the needle-points would touch the dog's skin. Still does not pick up much fur but it does do a better job at detangling.Bottom line:This comb will be used only for feathers as it's simply too harsh to use anywhere else.

I have long haired fur babies! They all get brushed and/or combed every day. This comb goes right through their hair, it is the best comb I have ever used and it is comfortable in my hand! Would recommend to anyone.

This is thee best comb to get my Persian cat's hair detangled without hurting her and I have tried alot of different types. Love it!
