The dowels you need are hard to find and very expensive!
We eagerly purchased these beautifully made brackets, but we have contacted 15 different hardware/home supply stores and not one of them have 1-3/4" wooden dowels. The seller suggested we try Home Depot, but they only have them in a 4 foot length, which makes a very short ballet barre. The seller also suggested bairdbrothers.com, but their options are very expensive, making the entire do-it-yourself ballet barre option as costly as purchasing a ready made ballet barre! We are very disappointed, and wish we would have confirmed the dowels were available before making this purchase.

Great quality brackets--just be careful to read all the specs
Great quality brackets--just be careful to read all the specs. I didn't notice that each tube only has room for 1 screw instead of 2, so I had to send them back. (I need brackets that have 2 connections for extra sturdy barres.) The mistake was mine though, and the seller has been great about accepting the return. :)
