Everything works - input ports, solar panel, and both USB output ports. When I tested the output ports, they both worked. The output of the is a little lower than I'm used to - battery backups are usually slower than wall chargers, so that's not surprising, but the 2A port only gave me 800mA and the 1A port acted in a similar fashion - both are full amperage for charging my phone. There was plastic on the solar panel - I'm assuming it was supposed to come off, since it had air bubbles in it...but it didn't come off as easily as I would've liked.The LED light has 3 settings - bright, medium brightness and strobe. I was pleasantly surprised with how bright this is - bright enough to replace a camping lantern at night for many things, including lighting up a tent while playing a game.I have 4 of the more common 5,000mAh solar panel charger/battery backups that are water resistant. While this is in a comparable price range, in my mind, it's better than those other chargers. The LEDs and higher capacity make this better in my mind - more useful for longer trips, with just as good of a solar charger. The whole things can be placed on its side and used for a lamp - which is really, really useful for camping. One of the best things about this is that it comes with multiple power adapters - not just a micro USB or maybe even an iPad charger - but all the common connections are covered!Pros: 8,000 mAh - high capacity, light is nice and bright - having two brightness levels; indicates battery level, 2 ports for chargingCons: not water resistant (so if you leave it outside, you have to keep an eye on the weather more than with some competing products).If I could change anything about this product: I'd add a way to hang this up - so you can have the light be overhead. Gave as a gift

This is a great device. It acts as a battery backup to charge your phone or to use an an emergency light source. The lights are very bright, so if the power goes out, turn this on and your whole room is lit. The solar charger is a nice feature. It can also be charged by plugging into my phone's charge with a micro usb cable.
