Voyager Compass

I feel this was money well spent. I also took it somewhere to have it engraved & it turned out beautifully. Makes for a very nice gift.

Not what I expected. The degree ring is almost not readable, the ring under the dial rattles, has a bubble in the liquid, the top does not open to 90 degrees.Pretty, but overall not of the quality I expected for $40 plus.I would not recommend to anyone.

this compass has a better functioning box that it comes in, rather than a quality functioning compass. the compass will indicate north & south just fine, but when you point or aim the compass to the west it indicates EAST !, and when aimed at the east indicates WEST! and also indicates southwest when aimed at the northeast. this is not a quality functioning compass at all! the metal case while stainless steel is not a solid milled piece, it is instead stamped sheet metal. the compass looks very attractive and comes in a very nice box. but it absolutely is not worth its asking price. If you buy this item you will be throwing away your money on a improper functioning compass.

It's a nice compass but it seems "flimsy". The quality isn't as good as other Dalvey compasses I've seen. I consider 3 out of 5 stars generous.

This is a beautiful gift. Gave it to my Husband for his first fathers day. I had the last name inscribed on the front. The outcome is just amazing. BUT the lid does NOT close when you first push down. He actually has to press the release button at the top in order to close it. This did not start happening until after i had it engraved. about 2 weeks after purchase, so it did not last long and because of the personalization, I could not return it. I still reccomend it as a gift, Hands down, but just be sure you have enough time inbetween receiving and gifting, just to be sure there are no problems.

5 stars bought this Compass 2 years ago. My wife was upset due to the cost. Let me be the 1st to tell you this is a GREAT COMPASS.Don't take it with you if you plan to magnet fish. LOLOL..This compass is strong, durable .If you bought this to keep it in a box .your wasting money. I came back to but another 1 for my brother, but there sold out. Going to there web site. Did I mention there in Scotland. Pretty cool that they been around since 1897. Those guys that put up bad reviews. What have you or your family made an sold since 1897??? Lolol.

Purchased this as a gift for a graduating soldier and now I need to find another gift suitable for such occasion (or a grown man). It should open with much less effort, maybe like something that has a spring and not a reluctant clam. The weight and appearance is very toylike. My wife is still trying to convince me that there is some metal in the material but I swear the entire thing feels like plastic. I had hoped for an heirloom quality gift and instead I arrived at the bottom of my Cracker Jack box.

Hello,I would not recommend buying a used compass. I bought two from Amazon site and one from E-Bay. All three had issues. The first was the wrong model. The other two had experienced heat condensation which resulted in a floating bubble. Next time I will not try to save a little money and buy new. I believe, however, that overall Dalvey makes good, middle of the road compasses.Kate
