the handset is that good. It's great to use
After getting the Echo Logico Retro, I end up using my cell phone A LOT MORE. Yes, the handset is that good. It's great to use, sound quality is solid, feels comfortable in the hand (and on the ear), and I just find all sorts of excuses to pick up the phone to call someone now. So for you Dads & Moms who want your kid to call home more often, get one of these for them!Psychologically, I feel like the lack of radiation with a handset makes me more comfortable to use my phone more often - at least I don't think there's radiation with the Echo Logico though I don't really know. But I know it doesn't get hot next to the ear like a cellphone would. The downsides: sometimes when I wiggle the piece that connects the handset with the cellphone, the sound would cut off momentarily. So try not to bump that connection too much when you're on a call, and you'll probably be just fine. It could tolerate some movement, but I wouldn't overdo it. There has also been a couple times when I try to hang up the call with the button on the handset, but can't really tell if the call really hung up. I end up pressing that button several times before having to then check my actual phone screen to see if the call has ended. (Because you don't want to be talking to someone next to you while the call is still on.) These factors made me rate this otherwise excellent product a four-star.An update (Sept 2015): The Echo Logico worked with my Android phone, but not with my recently-purchased iPhone. I could hear the other person, but the other person can't hear me. I am not sure what the problem is, but now the Logico handset is a waste since I can't use it with my iPhone.

Not as loud as I would like even with cell phone volume up
The headset is very easy to use and plug in. I used it first on my Samsung Galaxy SII and will be giving it as a gift to my 75 year old Aunt as a present to use with her flip phone as her arthritis makes it difficult to use all the "new fangled" and "tiny" phones. While the other caller was able to hear me crystal clear, I found that even with my phone volume all the way up it sounds like the volume is turned down. The other end of the line did not have any issues hearing me. If the jack spins or wiggles around while on a call a very small amount of static can be hear on the users end, less even yet on the other end of the line. The soft touch makes it very easy to use "hands free" like in the old days by propping it with your shoulder to your head. The color of it is also pretty, the logo on the top is not very noticeable but even when notice it there it is not obnoxious like some logos can be. The call end button on the inside of the handle is easy to use and so far doesnt seem to be in a position to "accidentally" hang up on people. I would give this phone a full 5 stars if it would be louder in sound, but for the $10 price tag I cant complain. I would have waited to rate after my aunt used the headset for a while, but she NEVER likes anything no matter how great it works so it would have been a wasted review.

Two different types of handsets have minor differences
I placed two separate orders for this unit and received two separate types of handset. One set wasn't branded at all and had different packaging than the second set, which were obviously from Echo. In use, the actual differences between the two units were so subtle that I'm not upset to have two different kinds of handset.A couple of things that I will point out: the cord on the unbranded handset is pretty short. Your phone will barely sit flat on a desk if you've got the handset plugged in and are taking on it. The Echo branded handset has a nice long cord, so this isn't an issue. However, if I keep the Echo handset plugged into my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, all noise is projected through the handset, including when my phone rings with an incoming call or text message. This means that when I'm at work I can't just leave the handset plugged into my phone, for fear that I'll miss a future call; not a huge inconvenience but something to take note of. The unbranded handset does not have this issue: even if I keep it plugged into my phone, call or messaging rings can be heard loud and clear. Both phones are very comfortable to talk on and have made long phone conversations quite enjoyable. Reduced exposure to data beams, plus I can easily access other apps on my phone while on a phone call, including my calendar, email, and address book.

Still using this 9 months later and liking it better.
When I bought this, I also bought a $10 Cellet corded headset with boom microphone, thinking I'd use the handset in my office and the headset in the car. Headset reviews were wildly all over the map -- poor quality great quality, etc., but almost all said wires were flimsey and it didn't last long. For the handset, I was torn between this one and the Swissvoice HD because I really wanted high sound quality and it looks cool (but costs twice as much). Reviews indicated that this one was more comfortable so I went with it.I'm pretty disappointed with the sound quality of this handset. Tinny, and you have to spend some energy paying attention to understand what's being said. But it's still better than earbud swinging mic or bluetooths that I've tried. And, still better than holding a hot flat touchscreen to your ear for an hour, given all the problems associated with that. 5 stars for comfort. But, sound quality and comfort and a more hands-free experience with the over the head boom mic is best (though not nearly as cool looking). I expect this handset to last longer than the headset -- will update as things change.I am confused about how others could say this product gives great quality sound - it's pretty bad, even when you don't have something else to compare it to. I am using it with iPhone4, and it's what I ordered (not substitute), fulfilled by Amazon.
