A technically advanced light with brilliant white output.

The Sofirn IF25A is a ~3800 lumen 21700-battery powered rechargeable flashlight. As you can see in the pictures, it comes with light, 21700 battery, USB charging cord, lanyard, and 185650 battery jacket.Summary: The IF25A produces a long lasting and pure white beam (4 beams, really!). That so much light can be produced from such a tiny light is a wonder. As I tested, the IF25A charges the included battery to 4.18V, and discharges to 2.81V. That means it safe for both protected and unprotected 21700/18650 batteries. Technically, the IF25A is a marvelous little rechargeble light. Excellent craftsmanship aside, what really separates it from the thousands of cheap lights on Amazon is the quality of the light. Sofirn uses 4xSST20 pure white LEDs. Mine came in 6500K. While I usually choose a warmer LED, these cooler LEDs give this little light more throw and perceived brightness. There are absolutely no green or yellow hues in my IF25A.And yes, the IF25A is very small and pocketable. The Basics: When the IF25A arrived, I went about testing the battery, light beam, size/weight, UI and charging featuresof the flashlight. The battery came charged to 3.91V. As seen the the summary above, I measured both the maximumcharge level and low voltage discharge cutoff, and both are great. They should keep the battery safe and ensurea long life. I put the supplied 4000maH Sofirn battery through my Opus BT-C3100 analyzer. It indicatedtrue capacity at 4330mAH! Incredible! The IF25A has a USB-C connector and Sofirn supplies a cable in the package. The side switch shows red while charging, and turns green when fully charged, and holds a slight green while turned off. When the IF25A is nearly fully discharged, the output will dim and the switch light will turn red. Of course with Anduril UI, one can check the battery voltage by clicking three times quickly from off. Light output step down occurs for two reasons: temperature and voltage. I observed that, as the voltage dropped to near empty, the light refused to run at higher levels for more than a few seconds. The IF25A without battery weighs in at 97g.The IF25A User Interface (UI) is a Anduril. A discription here is beyond the scope of this review. Let it suffice to say that long press for moon, double press for maximum light, and single press/ramp to any level you want. The side switch is not easily depressed in your pocket. That said, it can be locked out.I have other flashlights with SST20 LEDs. They give more throw than flood, and are almost always free of blue/yellow/green tints. The LEDs in my light are no different. like single SST20, the 4 LEDs form a cohesive white beam that is more spot than flood. The IF25A is a small light. NO small flashlight can maintain 3800 lumen outputwithout getting very very hot,so the IF25A will step the light down if it gets too hot. Sofirn does notcalibrate the temperature on Anduril lights. Mine came at 35C (in a 22C room). Until calibration, I simply could not run it at any level higher than 50% for more than 30 or 40 seconds. After calibration, it steps down appropriately. You MUST calibrate the temp through the user interface (a series of switch clicks) to get it to behave properly.Note to reader about temperature in small flashlights: If you want a light that can maintain morethan a 1000 lumens for hours, it will need a head (with cooling fins) the size of a baseball. These little lights simply can not run for more than a minute or two at the highest level before getting to hot to hold. Temperature step down is a good and necessary thing.

Big light in a small package

I'm already a fan of Sofirn flashlights, so me liking this one is no surprise. It’s very bright and can deliver a very good throw. At 200 yards it easily lighted up my neighbors house but I didn't test 450 yard claim that it makes. The battery is a 21700 - 4000mAh battery and it delivers the claimed mA's but I don't know the real brand of the battery. The light has a built in LVP (low voltage protection) which will allow you to use unprotected batteries and the tube will fit most button top batteries and all flat top 21700 batteries. The emitters are four SST20 and they produce a little heat but the light will regulate that by stepping the output down. The UI is Anduril 2.0 and it's very easy to understand but you will have to look it up on line.If you are looking for a bright compact thrower with decent battery life, then this is the light for you but they do have other lights that are similar to this one. IF19 & IF22A are two that you should look at as well.

My bedside flashlight.

Works on a single 18650 battery. Charges via USB c with the included cord. Has a good battery life because of the batteries being used. It's built out of aircraft aluminum and feels great in the hand. A quite versatile light with many levels of brightness. Comes with a lanyard also.

Decent buy for the price.

It's a decent light for the amount of light it produces, and the price, along with it being small and compact. I lost my Olight warrior mini 2 and needed a replacement quickly. I wanted a little more output, but was unsure if I wanted go to Olight's next level flashlight and purchase the Warrior 3S. So, I researched comparisons on YouTube, and decided on this model. This model had more lumins, and was much cheaper. I first ordered this model through the Sofirn website, but the next day a recieved an email back from them stating that the USA option did not offer a clip. I definitely needed the clip because that's how I Iost the Mini 2, when the clip came off. They offered to change the order and have it come from China, but it would have taken a month. So I opted for a refund, which ended up being rather complicated, and ended up taking 2 weeks to get resolved. So I decided to buy the model from Amazon, which was more expensive and didn't offer a clip option, but I was able to have it in a week. So, I've had it for a few weeks now. The good thing is it has a lot of features, and it's plenty bright. However, at the brightest setting, it heats up rather quickly, and gets unbearable in no time at all. But highest setting typically, is not used in that capacity very often, so it's not an issue. The operation is quite different from the Olight, which is fine, but just requires some getting use to. The main dislike is it has no off switch for the green light. The button light is not constantly lit on the Olight, and no need to worry about it, or some other function drawing the battery. So I just unscrew the cap slightly, to turn it off when not in use. This is a bit disconcerting, due to the fact it will require more battery charges being on all the time, and is inconvenient. After encountering this issue, I decided to go ahead and purchase Olights Warrior 3S, out of simple convenience. Unfortunately, its heavier than the Mini 2, or the IF25A. But, it has become my new EDC. I would have been satisfied with the IF25A as my EDC if I didnt have to unscrew it every night, or it had a clip at the very least. Even though the Olight warrior mini 2 is only 1750 lumins, it was my preferred EDC, and 3 times the price, but better quality. That was the two limiting factors with my purchase of this flashlight. Realistically, At the bargain price, how can one go wrong with this model for what it offers?
