Essential John Stewart

This greatest hits collection is absolutely worth the price. It is an import from Australia, so that is why it is a bit more in price. For a greatest hits collection, it has a great flow to it, from 1964 to 1979. All great songs with a natural progression. The songs are original, not re-made or enhanced. For anyone that enjoys John Steward and wants to get acquainted with his work, this is a wonderful place to begin since not all of his recordings are available anymore. This is one of the few greatest hits albums that I can say that I love every song on it.

I've been listening to John Stewart for 40 years and I too have California Bloodlines. I enjoy the lyrics of his latest work (especially East of Denver and Broken Roses, from The Day the River Sang), but EARTH RIDER is an absolutely wonderful collection of the good ol' days. Being an old hippie I just had to hear John Stewart again. I ordered this CD and I am not disappointed. It is by far the best John Stewart I've heard since he was with the Kingston Trio. A great listening CD.

I like this CD and glad I bought it (mostly because of "Gold" with Fleetwood Mac). This is the original version of "Gold" released in 1979. Other John Stewart CD's have remade versions which aren't as good as the original version. This holds the record for the most songs on a CD in my collection. 24 songs!!! As it turns out, I like about 12 of them. So, for 12 good, enjoyable songs, it was well worth the money. Also, I would have bought "Bombs away dream babies", but it is out of print, and no longer available at a reasonable price.

The CD arrived is good condition, and it was everything I thought it would be. I bought it to replace some vinyl I had, and it that

John is at his best on this album. His musical stories come alive almost as though you were there listening to them. His voice was still very powerful at the this album was introduced.
