Like regular pencils. Not oil pencils which is why I bought them. Oh well.

These coloring pencils arrived when promised. I think that is as important to most buyers as it is to me.Seller's packaging could be better. The pencils come in a fairly basic cardboard box. I will definitely not be keeping the pencils in the box in which they came. I will have to switch them to something sturdier for long term. They arrived safely with no evidence of breakage. Shippers' packaging was fine.Be careful when unpacking these pencils as the sharpener is packaged in the bottom of the pencil box underneath the pencils. It is easy to completely overlook and have it end up in the trash. You have to open the bottom of the pencil box to get it out. It is also a very tiny sharpener, about half the size of most regular sharpeners. All in all, I do not think the sharpener is an added value.The pencils are pre-sharpened which you will appreciate if you have ever had to sharpen an entire box of pencils.The pencils are sold listed as Bayam Oil coloring pencils. The box is labled Marco pencils made in Shanghai. The pencils have written on them "Superb Writer...Marco". I was excited to see that the pencils are numbered, until I realized that they all had the same number on them. So there is no color number and no color name on the individual pencils. This means you will need to assign them a number and label them yourself if making a color chart is important to you. There is nothing on the box that says they are oil pencils, but I think they are because of how they color.These are standard size pencils both in barrel size and their 7" length. They appear to have fairly thick cores. A nice plus that I did noticed is that they include a silver and a gold metallic pencil. Color selection is, of course, limited by the number of pencils. Without doing a color chart, which I have not managed yet, there appears to be one white, two gray, one black, one pink, four reds, two oranges, three yellows, four greens, six blues, three purples, seven browns, and the one silver and the one gold metallics. I enjoy coloring landscapes and animals so having a lot of brown pleased me. Color saturation is medium and not quite what I was expecting for oils, but hard to judge since these are the first oils I have used.. To get a smooth, saturated color, I believe you are going to need to do several layers. When I use them lightly, I can see each stroke mark. After making 3 or 4 passes, the color smooths out nicely. I have only recently started doing adult coloring. I'm looking forward to many hours relaxing coloring with these pencils.I think these would be an excellent set of pencils for children or young artist. They are definitely a good choice for new adult colorist like myself.After using these pencils several times, I do want to advise you that they are very waxy. They color best if you bear down hard to get a dark, waxy color. I found it hard to color lightly with them as they showed the lines.I received these pencils at a discounted price in return for my honest review. There is no promise made to review them favorably. This is a nice set of colored pencils for the price, however I'm not so sure about the claim that they are oil based. They do seem a bit harder than my professional colored pencils that I have for my art classes, and don't glide as easily as those, but they are still a nice set of pencils. I can't say for sure what the box says, because it is all in Chinese, but I would say they are more of your standard colored pencils vs. a true oil based pencil set. The picture of the pencils, as well as the picture on the box, shows a pencil sharpener, which some people said they did not receive. After some messing with the box, I found that the bottom contains a small, plastic sharpener as pictured, it just takes some detective work to find it unless you can read Chinese. The colors do apply nicely and smoothly, even if not quite like professional oil based pencils, and they are nice and vibrant on paper. The pencils themselves are nontoxic, so I think I will just go ahead and pass this set along to my stepdaughter to add to her budding art collection. I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for a fair and honest review, and they are a nice set of colored pencils. I was, however, expecting more from the quality for the price, and feel they are comparable to those you could buy in most stores for less.

LOVE this set. I generally l use watercolor pencils but I thought I'd give the oil pencils a chance and I really love these. The pencils are incredibly smooth and easy to use. The colors blend incredibly well. I love the smooth look these give normal coloring pages. I love these pencils and I really enjoy coloring with them! There is a great variety of colors in this set and they all look great and are vibrant on multiple types of paper. I generally use mixed media paper for these but I've also just doodled on regular computer paper and they still look great.I received these at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

I finally got tired of replacing my kids crayons due to breaking and started letting them use color pencils. Now that they are using them it has become important to not only keep them on hand but to have an assortment of colors to compensate for the colors in a huge box of crayons. This set of colored pencils has 36 colors that's are all vibrant and easy to use. None of the colors are repeated and they glide over a page like butter! I love this set of colors pencils and my kids enjoy using them for all their coloring needs! I received this at a discount in exchange of my honest review and would recommend these to anyway!!!

I really liked these colored pencils, there is a good variety of color and they work very good. The only thing that I was kinda bummed about, is in the picture it showed that they came with a little pencil sharpener. It also had a picture of a pencil sharpener on the box! So I thought it came with a pencil sharpener! But they didn't. Other than that it is a great product and I have been using them for those really detailed coloring books.I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
