Ark CD by the Animals
The Animals band that were part of the 1960's music dubbed "the British Invasion" were always one of my favorite bands. I own lots of their music from the 1960's from the original Animals. I also purchased a 1977 reunion album of all of the orignal Animals members titled, "Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted" and it is a great Album. When I saw that there was another Animals reunion album from a 1983 reunion that also featured all of the members of the original Animals, I just had to have it. I was not disappointed in the CD. Eric Burdon, the lead singer for the Animals has one of the best voices in Rock n' Roll. I am also a bass player and I learned a lot of bass licks and patterns in the 1960's listening to the Animals bass player Chas Chandler, who sadly passed away a short few years ago.

THE HOUSE OF THE DECLINING SUN
This is the final studio album for the original Animals. It came out in the late 1980's. It uses some of the music styles that were popular at the time(reggae, rap etc). Vocally and musically the group is at its peak. Due to management problems the original band would record no more. Now Chas Chandler(bassist) is dead. For the true Animal affectionadio this record is the final stone in the house constructed by Eric Burdon and company.

The Search finally ended!
I had been looking for this CD for a long time! I had seen THE ANIMALS perform this album in NYC back in the '80's, and used to have the vinyl of it. Recently I saw Eric Burdon perform in NJ and I remembered a particular song from the ARK but not the name of the album. After some searching around with lyrics that I remembered from LOOSE CHANGE, I finally hit upon the forgotten Album name, and located it on Amazon!! I still love this CD as much as back in the 80's!!

Good reunion album
This reunion album from the Animals is more rock than their first reunion album was. It is also much better. The Night is the best song with Hard Times another good song. The first seven songs are mostly rock and the last six are a bit more blues. If you like the Animals give this a try.

Highly underrated. Great songs and a good album.
It is a shame that Ark didn't go anywhere. The Animals showed themselves able to adapt to the music landscape over thirty years of their existence. Ark was a little noticed and little regarded entry into their discography and shouldn't have been. The Animals adapted and made their own the sound of rock and pop after the horror of disco threatened to consume it all.

The Animals reunite. he result is a strong mix ...
The Animals reunite. he result is a strong mix of rock and blues. Lead singer Eric Burdon's voice drips in old school soul. A welcome return from a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band.

Fine Finish for the Best R&B Outfit of the '60's
I have the original vinyl which is in mint condition that I bought in 1983, the CD which came out in 1996 and have bought this to get the bonus track which opened their penultimate show in Middlesbrough that I attended in late 1983. The attendance amounted to about 20 hardcore fans but we got a full 2-2.5 hour cracking show including an encore. Shame they couldn't stay together.
