BETTER THAN BOOK 1
I didn't like Loki in book 1 of the series, but this was an improvement. I enjoyed Heather (h) and her relationship with her daughter. She had a rough life and she didn't let it get her down. The daughter was precious as were the other two girls of the family. The villains (yes more than one), were down right awful. I couldn't get over how Torrian (H) fell for his betrothed underhanded tricks. He was so smart the first time, and he doesn't think she will attempt it again? This caused me to lower my rating and that of the King. His reactions to what the betrothed does is mind boggling and he acts as no big deal. Women in the time period the author writes were to be virgins. There is lovemaking but very mild, 3.5 if that out of 5 heat level. There is an attempted rape scene near the end, so be warned. There is a slight cliffhanger with one of the villains near the end. I am sure this will play into the next story about Lily. I enjoyed the ending, and how we discover the connection to the h and a family member. I was somewhat sad at the decision of the Laird. I hate to think of these strong character's getting old and passing the torch. It was nice to see the first generation have major parts in this story. You really don't need to read the whole series, the author does a nice job catching everyone up. As other reviewer's mentioned some of the actions and dialogue were at times modern. We have no cheating, no cliffhanger for our H/h, we do get HEA and suspense. I did feel a connection to the H/h and they do fall in love fast, but that didn't bother me.I am not going into the premise as many have explained it better than me, just what you may get out of reading it. Torn between Duty and Love
Another wonderful read! Torrian has not found a lass yet he would like to spend the rest of his life yet. Heather and her daughter Nellie live in a cave not far from Ramsey Keep. When Nellie falls ill, she runs and seeks Brennas help. She then stays at the keep while her daughter heals. Torrian is then dictated to marry a rival clans daughter to help settle some unrest. When he meets Davina he feels and sees decent in her. He is then set up by her father, Ranulf and her brother and King Alexander dictates they marry in two days. With the help of his family and with Heather by his side they will fight to make sure this union does not happen. A wonderful read and a great story!

Torrian's a Winner!
I loved Torrian's story! Kiera has definitely done it again with this intriguing tale. At the same time she captivates the reader with the way she continues to develop her characters. You feel like you know the Grants and Ramsays and want to continue to get to know them. Torrian has grown into a kind, compassionate adult who is one of the good guys and meets his soulmate in Heather. This book has enough action that it holds your interest and you don't want to put it down once you start reading. Now I want Lily's story ASAP!

Great story and characters
This is my first book by the author, and I loved it. It had great characters and chemistry between them, the romance was also very well written and the plot flowed. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I felt like the relationship (love-wise) between the main couple was a bit rushed and forced - I wish it had been more developed. But overall, a great story and I'm getting the first book in the series to see if I'll continue with the characters.

Torrian (The Highland Clan Book 2)
Though a story of Scotland that has many writers trying their creative hand in this genre, this writer actually found an unusual creative way to give people a different kind of story. Since I hate spoilers, I can say I was pleasantly surprised with this story.

Enjoyable
A nice tale of highlanders dealing with subterfuge and greed intertwined with romance and family ties being found. Some things move a bit quickly without the story details to back up the forward push.

The Saga continues
I love these families and how loyal they are to one another . It’s the best when you’re reading a story and you don’t ever want it to end … and it continues!! That’s what this series of novels are for me, and I thank you!

Not historically accurate, poor plot and bad characters
I've never struggled to finish a book as much I've struggled with this one.Honestly, you cannot call this historical romance, you may call it a super modern silly story with people dressed up in costumes. The dialogues are laughable even in modern standards and the plot is not even remotely believable. I found myself skipping page after page just to get to a point where something actually happens or where a paragraph is meaningful and is relevant to the story. It took me three days to manage this small book when I finish books twice it's size in two days, this is how boring and badly written this book was.
