SMITH Mirage MIPS

Using M size, head measurement 56cm.Light and good fit

I haven’t used this on a slope yet, but the fit is great and feels very solid. According to Smith website, I could go for size small or medium, but I’m glad I bought size small. My head measurement is a touch less than 55cm. I hope this info will help others.

Purchased this for my wife. Thank goodness she has not needed the MIPS protection. She has complement on the comfort, warmth, and how easy it is to get on and off and when needed open the vents to release heat.

This helmet had great protection. It is very soft and cushioned material. It was so insulted that the ear muffs blocked out sound. My boyfriend could be right next to me talking and I couldn’t hear him at all. Not so great when you need direction on how to ski & you can’t hear. However, it kept me very warm. I wish it came with a small storage bag. But it does have a nice box to keep it in. A bag would have been great when traveling on an airplane.

Compared the Giro Ceva MIPS to this Smith Mirage as I wanted white, venting, adjustable, MIPS. They are very comparable. The major differences were that the Smith ear muffs are thicker and go to my jaw bone (thus likely would be warmer) but the GIRO has better forehead padding and sat more comfortably. I did weigh the two and the Smith is 5oz lighter, if that is critical to you. Both fit well with my Smith googles.

It fits. And more importantly it helps to prevent my daughter from getting a concussion while skiing. Especially like the new added feature, MIPS

This is my second Smith helmet. My first one (Arrival model) survived a fall but I still thought it best to replace and wanted my new one to have Mips. I was pleased to get a good fit with the new helmet - it is easy to adjust for the perfect size. Once on, it stayed in place and was extremely comfortable. I wasn't sure about the matt white colour, my previous one had been a gloss white but actually it looked better than in the pictures. I have Oakley Prism goggles and they are an excellent pairing with this helmet. Having experienced a fall when I took a hit to the back of my head while wearing a Smith helmet I would never ski without one and the quality of Smith has saved me a concussion. I hope though I don't get any knocks with this new one!!

Fits perfectly, haven't use it yet but it's really comfortable and soft on the inside, love it
