Rod Frederick was Born in Salem, Oregon. Frederick's fascination with animals stems from his childhood. When he was a second-grader, he was given a copy of the late Roger Tory Peterson's Field Guide to the Birds. The appreciation he developed for the wilderness early in his life has never waned, it has continually intensified. He finds that when he's painting, he can't wait to get back into the wilderness to observe animals. When he's outside, surrounded by nature, he's anxious to get back to his studio so he can paint it.

extremely difficult puzzle
This penguin puzzle was extremely difficult. All the pieces are oddly shaped, I missed that part of the product details. There are a lot of regular shape pieces but a majority of them are oddly shaped which makes this puzzle extremely difficult to put together. and besides the penguins the colors of the rest of the puzzle are so similar which also made this puzzle challenging. It took me about a week to finish this puzzle working on it 4/5 hours a day on it. Also because of all the whimsically shaped pieces it does not stay together to well and takes a lot of puzzle glue to make it stay together. It is a unique puzzle but it's fun if you are up for the challenge.

Very nice build quality.
This puzzle was high quality - and doesn't look like the mushy pieces of the typical recycled cardboard. And the whimsical pieces were kind of neat.

I love the puzzle. It took a lot of concentration to put together. I was looking for a challenge but workable puzzle and that is what I got.
