From schlepping luggage to the airport for a family vacation to catching the train down the coast for an overnight business trip, ITW's set of five compressible travel bags makes being on the go a lighter, more organized, and more streamlined affair. To use, simply add the items to be stored and, starting at the zippered end, roll the air out through the one-way valve to "shrink" the contents--often gaining up to twice as much overall storage space. The durable construction is airtight and waterproof for protection against dirt, moisture, mildew, bugs, and odors; and the clear design is perfect for airport security checks as well as at-a-glance reference of items inside. The set of five travel bags includes two carry-on-size bags, each measuring 13-1/2 inches by 19-1/2 inches, and three suitcase-size bags, each measuring 18 inches by 22-1/2 inches.

Not great...very disappointing.
My husband and I traveled to Africa for five weeks with nothing but carry on luggage...all thanks to space saving bags that we loved. However, the "zippers" do break over time so we purchased new ones...these...and unfortunately, they are no where near as good as the other ones we had. Wish I could remember the names of those so I could recommend. All I know is these are not it. The other ones we could roll up pretty easily and they would blow out all the air and compress items nicely. These we had to lay on, stand on, and basically beat into submission to get the excess air out. Not easy for one person to do either.

The space bags are okay.
I found that about one half of the space bags took a vacuum and kept it and the other half would eventually and almost immediately leak. I use the space bags for three separate and different purposes. Initially I took some bulky winter clothing and put them in the bags and store them in the garage. One bag kept its vacuum in the package remains small, whereas an identical bag started to leak, within hours, and inflated to its original shape. My second use of the bags was to take two bags and use them to compress emergency close that I kept in the trunk of the car for emergencies, primarily when I'm camping or traveling. Here again, one bag maintained its vacuum while the other had a leak.My third time using these spaces are bags, I took a trip and use the small suitcase size space saver bags. This is the third time that one bag took a good vacuum and remain sealed whereas one bag - suitcase size bags - became partially reinflated. It seems that I am able to work the system well enough to keep the vacuum in half of the bags. Solution, if one bag doesn't work most likely another try with a different bag will do the job. Little extra work. The bags that don't hold a vacuum, I found a way to make them useful. I take the bag, and then I put a strap around the bag after it is fully evacuated. This limits the amount of the inflation of the leaky bag. This is primarily done with the space bag that I would intend to open periodically anyway.Bottom line, it's better than nothing but not perfect. It's your call if this is of any use to you.

They work!
Nice packing aid. The set allows you to pack an entire checked-bag. It works so well in fact, that you have to be careful that you are not overweight. Nice to organize your suitcase with when you are on the move and don't unpack each night. Zip an entire days worth of stuff into one bag and the rest of your bag remains undisturbed. Love it!!

very Cool
Someone advised me to get these bags prior to deployment. for some reason I thought youneeded a vacuum to use these, but I was wrong. You put your clothes in, zip it up and then roll in the opposite direction and all the air goes out a one way valve. Saves loads of space and sort of fun to do..The Good: Works as advertisedThe Bad: Just wish more came in a boxOverall: I will use these again and again.

Tears to easily
We bought a bunch of these as well as the vacuum ones recently for our international move and they didn't do a d*** bit of good! Half of them tore just by vacuuming them because the plastic would crinkle and just rip without anyone touching them. Then the ones that you roll don't roll back out so that you can lay them flat. Mights as well gone and gotten some trash bags and just vacuumed the air out of those!

Must Have Traveler Accessory
We were amazed at how well these bags worked. If it weren't for weight issues we could have packed all of our clothes for a 14 day European vacation in one 26" suitcase! We mainly used them on items we weren't worried about getting wrinkled but found that the wrinkles in the clothes packed in the bags relaxed quickly upon wearing the clothes. The bags also allowed us to bring extra "just in case items" such as a heavy jackets for unexpected bad weather. I also have two favorite pillows I sleep with that I miss when on vacation. We put them in the bags and they flattened out perfectly. Lastly, they make bringing home dirty laundry easy. Can't say enough good things about them. Easy to use over and over.

Great idea- doesn't really work
I heard about these on tv and thought they'd be great for when I moved. IF they worked they would be great, but they don't! I bought about 25 various sized bags and only about 1/4 of them actually kept the air out. They appear to be working for the first day or 2 but slowly let air back in. Ended up have to repack all my stuff and throwing them away. Waste of time and money!

Great for travel
I got this in preparation for a trip. I was trying to keep my luggage to a carry on size but I had to bring a lot of sweaters and fluffy stuff so my clothes took up a lot of room. These bags worked great for shrinking everything down to size. I needed to iron a few of the shirts once I got to my destination, but I'll take that over paying $25 two ways because I had to pack a bunch of sweaters.
