Highly recommend
I love this ESV Bible. The commentary is spot on unlike other study Bibles. If I have the opportunity to gift a Bible in the future, it will be this one.

Just...Wow
This bible is amazing! I got the leather-like light grey one. The outside is nice but opening it up I felt like a kid with unlimited play tokens. 🤩🤩 There is so much extra information, but it's discreetly placed so it does not overwhelm the text.I was concerned about the font size. I have worn trifocals since I was 30 and thankfully I have no trouble reading the text. There is detailed information preceeding each book. The scriptures are annotated for cross reference. There is a virtual verse by verse commentary. Some reviewers had complained about the pages being thin and sticking together. Yes, some of the corners were stuck together, but not like superglue. I think it's from the gilding. The pages seem to me to be typical bible pages. This is a large book. A thicker page would have really made this book crazy heavy. I honestly don't find the book to be awkward or heavy. It's just a normal Bible's weight.I am working through a Paul Washer study book, "Discovering the Glorious Gospel." One of the scriptures to look up was, 2 Corinthians 5:21. I always have stumbled on the wording even though it is straightforward. Today I used the commentary section for clarity. Succinct.Love this bible. I'm sure I will still use my online bibles because it's so quick to cross reference things, but this bible is really a treasure of information. I am extremely pleased with this purchase!

Absolutely Wonderful
I have been looking for a new study Bible for awhile that was sound in the doctrine. I am a PCA Presbyterian, and my uncle was one of the editors and a very good friend of Dr. Sproul. As soon as I received the Bible, I noticed that it was very large, but upon reading it, I realized it was because there was so much additional information provided to allow the reader to truly understand what was being said in the original script.I absolutely love this Bible and can not wait to read through it in completion, although I know it will probably take longer than others as there is so much additional information provided regarding the passages. I am truly very excited to deepen my understanding, and know that this was the best choice I could have made.Strictly materialistic quality speaking, this Bible is beautifully made with gold trimmed pages. It is absolutely beautiful and the imitation leather is a wonderful quality.I would, without hesitation, strongly suggest that you purchase this Bible if you are desiring to understand the Word of God better and want a quality Bible that you can use throughout your life.As for myself, I plan on purchasing another copy of this, in genuine leather, for my mother this Mother's day.Edit: In regard to the pages being thin, I do not think it obstructs the readibility. If the pages were thicker, one of two things would be scarificed: Either the already large size of this would be made larger and not practical to take to church/small group/etc. or some of the beautiful insight and content would be lost in order to maintain a certain level of accessibility.

Not Much Changed From the Previous Edition
Disappointed that this study Bible, like the Macarthur study Bibles for the various translations is actually not much changed from the preceding edition. There is finagling with the number of pages and number of annotations; both study Bibles boast "thousands" of annotations in the first edition and then list 20K or so annotations in the next edition, but not much has changed in checking the annotations page by page. At least the Reformation Study Bible, like the NIV Study Bible, the Holman Study Bible (KJV or NKJV version), the ESV Study Bible, the Nelson Study Bible, NKJV Edition (in later editions, the NKJV Study Bible), and the Zondervan NASB Study Bible (has the NIV Study Bible notes, accompanying a more literally accurate translation) all list the contributors. John Macarthur keeps his associates annonymous as "faculty members of the Masters Seminary"; even Paul in some of his Epistles acknowledges by name his associates and helpers . . .

Use USB to download to Kindle
Love this version of the Bible and all the theological notes. After downloading and reading for several months on my Kindle, all the sudden it refused to download after a charge. Did all the recommended "fixes" including soft and hard restarts, reloading, etc., etc., etc. Finally decided to get another Paperwhite with more storage (even though my other one was not even 2 years old and had plenty of space left). Really thought it was a hardware issue, but when the new Kindle arrived, STILL COULDN'T DOWNLOAD THIS BIBLE!! Almost gave up, finally got it called up on my old Kindle -- just couldn't get it on my new one. Then I did one last try --- tried downloading the file into the new Kindle using USB DOWNLOAD. Worked like a charm. Hopefully this version will remain after a charging. But I'm so glad I was finally able to get it because this version doesn't come in large enough print for my eyes. The trouble is definitly worth it for all the great notes it contains!!
