Good for soil amendment, bonsai soil, reducing pest pressure
Good for all sorts of things like soil amendment, bonsai soil, etc. I have found a particularly good use is putting a layer on top of soil in house plants to prevent pest pressure from insects like fungus gnats that inhabit soil and can damage roots. This provides a layer that dries quicker than soil below, tricking the insects into looking for a different area to colonize. You should sift the turface first to get consistent sized particles and to eliminate any dust as there is bound to be some that have broken apart. Don't breathe the dust either as this can pose health risks, a mask or breezy environment is good.

Good quality
I use it today to make my succulent/cactus soil mix (about 2 gallons total). The texture is coarse enough (not too big, not too fine). Good quality & I'll buy it again if needed for my new soil mix.

Great turface!
I really like this turface. The size is small (about 1/8") but uniform. I use it as top dressing and I add to my succulent soil mix for more grit. I will be purchasing again and I do recommend this product.

Great soil additive!
Love this as an additive for my soil mixes! I use this primarily in my succulent and bonsai soil mixes. No complaints from me or my plants! I would definitely recommend keeping this product on hand.

Provides Needed Structure for Soil in Potted Plants
This material is great for potted plants especially. The soil in pots tends to compact over time, as the organic materials decompose. I have previously used sharp sand and/or perlite in order to give the soil some structure. This material is quote good - doesn't float to the surface like perlite and seems better at providing structure than sharp sand (although I still use these along with the Turface).

I used to turface to make a customized succulent soil blend and this has helped my succulents flourish! Just make sure you filter out any small/finely milled pieces to make a cohesive soil mixture and you will be all good. I've actually made two big batches of succulent soil mix and I have a ton of turface still left! Love this stuff!
