It works much better than expected and even indicates how far an object ...
This is the coolest product for the price point. It works much better than expected and even indicates how far an object is and which side the approaching object is coming from. However, it took two days to install as the directions are worse than Ikea's and I'm good with putting furniture together. Still I love the result. If you're patient and have some automotive knowledge, go for it. -db

Good overall system, missing some pieces, but do-it-yourself installation is possible...
Overall a good system for the price. I was wary of doing the installation myself, but after waiting a couple of weeks for a friend of a friend to do it to no avail, I took the plunge and did it myself. The most nerve-racking part was the measuring and drilling for the sensors and camera in my (plastic) bumper. If you mess up that part you've ruined your car and the sensors might not work as they were intended. Luckily I fretted over it so much I got it right, and it looks and works great. One thing, since I had a silver colored bumper I actually ordered another backup sensor kit from "Docooler" that had generally color-matched sensors. I took a gamble that the connections would be universal, and in fact they were, so I was able to "blend" the sensors into my bumper using the ones from the Docooler kit (only about $17 USD).The instructions that come with this kit are very rudimentary and a bit hard to read (some pages were in the wrong order), and don't address the camera and backup sensors as a whole system, but rather separate installations. I ended up wiring everything to my reverse lights including the ground (which the lights have also). Simple enough concept -- reverse lights always come on in "Reverse", therefore wire all power connections and grounds to the same wires. So far, so good.Another negative is the kit does not provide a very long wire for the power for the in-mirror screen, and it's not addressed very well (or at all really) in the instructions. I ended up getting a wire that had basic "power" and "ground" wires and spliced it into the plug supplied in the kit. My own wire was long enough that I decided to have it go all the way back to the same reverse light I had everything else hooked up to, and it worked fine after that. Also with that is the "ugly" yellow and red plugs of the in-mirror screen occasionally pertruding from behind my sun visor as I couldn't fit them under my headliner because they were too bulky (however, a minor cosmetic issue considering the benefit of the system overall). Finally, I deducted the rest of the full star because my particular kit did not have the push-in adapter for the camera. I had to center mount my camera in my bumper because the license plate of my vehicle is off-center. I tried to get a replacement part sent (small piece of plastic and metal that screws on the front of the camera), especially since it mentions it in the instructions, but I was only able to communicate with Amazon and not the seller directly. I ended up ordering the camera by itself just to get the part (still waiting on it to arrive), which is another $25 USD, since Amazon said they would have to send a whole new kit as a replacement, but I would have to return my original (i.e., already installed and wired up!). Since I already installed everything I just ordered the new camera with a discount and free expedited shipping paid for by Amazon (albeit rather circuitously). I figured I could use the camera with the other Docooler backup sensor kit I had ordered for another vehicle (maybe, remains to be seen what comes with the camera kit itself). For now I've shoved the camera from behind into the hole drilled in my bumper for it and there's enough tension/friction to hold it in place even over bumpy roads, but it did get pushed in accidentally when someone washed my car and I didn't get to tell them to watch out for it. I managed to shove it back in though (...I can't wait for the right part to arrive).A note on the picture quality -- not great, but works well enough, even in low-light conditions. Some may have been experiencing some poor picture because the plastic protective film that comes with the camera was not removed. Obviously it looks terrible if you leave it on, and it's meant to come off anyway. I intentionally left it on initially and the picture was washed-out in the daylight, but as soon as I removed it, all was clear. Also, there is a right way to install the camera so the picture displays in a proper orientation (i.e., right-side-up), so don't glue it down or permanently adhere it until you're sure it's correct.Again, overall a good system, but a little bit of jury-rigging for an after-market installation is required to make it better. If you can get a professional installation, at least you have that guarantee for workmanship (hopefully), but it's not impossible to do it yourself. Hopefully your kit at least comes with the push-in attachment for the camera.

Although the product seems good, but in between the installation
Although the product seems good, but in between the installation, we found that the sound box is missing and we would not have an alarm. The cap to install the camera to the car was wrong and we had to use sand paper and hot glue to install the same- which means for any reason we need to remove the camera - we would not be able to re-install the same- big disappointment.

impossible to set up
I'm not a wiring dummy and have set up enough systems that this shouldn't have been any real challenge to set up. To start out there are three sets of power cords that needed to be hooked up, the camera, the main box, and the monitor. In the instructions it is impossible to tell which wires connect to the reverse lights and there is absolutely no diagram for the monitor which left me completely clueless as to why there were three inputs including the power cord then one says cam in and the other says video in which should be the same thing. I will end up either paying someone to set it up or will return the entire package.

so so product
Works great at night, but cannot see screen during daytime. At least the back up sensors work consistently. Could be a lot better.

Good safe items
Items were as described. Due to way I connected all I needed more wire to complete job. I contacted customer support via email and they returned telephone call. I thought item was missing but I mistook 1 item for something else. All was there and now to safely back up and eliminate stress and BAD MEMORIES of days gone by.
