This vehicle coming straight from the year 2099 is running on clean hydrogen fuel using a next generation reversible Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cell. Its new design offers a futuristic feel for what transportation technology could evolve towards in the next decades. Watch as oxygen and hydrogen gases are formed in two transparent water containers in the back of the vehicle. The kitˇs fuel cell unit combines water electrolysis and fuel cell functions into one device. The car steers independently of the user once it hits a barrier, and cool blue LED lights flash from inside the cockpit.

looks great. doesn't work consistently well.
Had high hopes. Our scientific childen (capable in robotics) enjoyed setting it up and we were all extremely disappointed that it would not move. Waste of money. Components are interesting though. Little comfort when the item doesn't do as advertised.

great toy for interests in hydrogen fuel cell
For kids who are interested in seeing the technology of hydrogen fuel cell in action this is a great educational toy. Need adult supervision for younger kids attempting to put it together.

Extremely interesting
I picked this kit up for my 19 year old son who is majoring in engineering. He loved it - was his favorite Christmas gift. He brought it back to college with him. It doesn't run very fast, but the technology is fascinating. When it bumps into something it knows to turn a different direction. Needs distilled water, but not much. This was a surprise hit.

Picture is NOT what you receive!
I just received the Hydrocar that I ordered from this listing. The car I received was NOT the one in the picture. The H2 Racer is pictured. I didn't realize there were two different cars. I'm very disappointed in the misrepresentation. The H2 Racer is a remote control car separate from the water (just like in the picture). Go to Horizon's website to see what you'll get if you order this item.
