Incredible Wood Filler and Structural Patching Material
This is the most amazing stuff in the world. I have used Bondo, plastic wood (wood filler) and other products in the past to fix holes in wood. This time I was faced with the job f filling in a large hole in my door to replace an ancient handleset with a new modern one. The holes required are entirely different geometry and I thought I was going to have to cut up pieces of wood to match the old cut-outs, then piece them in and glue them. The main hole was way to large for Bondo - and being down by the sea I also worried that the shrinking and swelling of the door might eventually lead to cracking. When I described the challenge, a friend of mine recommend this product to me. I could not have been more pleased with it's performance. It's simple to mix because you just have to mix equal parts. It stays pliable and workable for about 4-6 hours, so there's plenty of time to scrape and mold once you get it in place. It handles like play-dough, soft and pliable, but with enough body to support itself. It's very light and cures in about 24 hours rock solid. I was concerned about it's ability to adhere since it's really not all that sticky when you work with. You will want to wear plastic gloves because there are chemical reactions involved here, but it's really no more sticky than play-dough. So I took some leftover and made a couple little balls about 1" in diameter and (a) placed them gently together (like a snow man) and (b) placed them gently on a slab of wood. The next day, once they cured, tried to break them apart. I needed to hit the little figure with a hammer to remove it from the wood slab and never was able to cleanly break apart the balls, so the adhesion I was worried about is a non-issue. This stuff sticks well, even to flat surfaces. It cures a light brown color and is much lighter than wood or Bondo when it's done. It sands like wood and can be painted like wood. As my locksmith pointed out, however, it does not chisel like wood, so if you need to make cutouts, it's good to think ahead and mold these when the material is pliable, otherwise you may need a dremel tool to work the small bits. Pros: - easy to mix - easy to work - pliable and workable for 4-6 hours - dries rock hard - sandable and paintable like wood - waterproof Cons: - takes 24 hours to cure - does not chisel like wood (tends to shatter) This is definitely my new "go to" patching material for high-use areas.

REMARKABLE!!
I have used this material for this last year or two during renovations of a 100 yr old abandoned house. It is simple to use, although having sculpting skills makes it easier. We have used it to replace missing corners and architectural features, fill big gouges where crowbars were used to open wood windows, and restore areas of rot. We use iron oxide to color it a rich reddish brown that will then pick up wood stain and other finishes. It becomes virtually invisible and is remarkably strong. It is doing well in areas that are functional and not just decorative. A little bit goes a long ways, so start by mixing less than you think you'll need. No other wood filler comes close to the usefulness and strength of this system, and it has been a godsend for this overwhelming project.

Very impressed with the results and easy to sand/chisel
I am not one for giving 5 star reviews without a good reason about anything but so far in my experience I am very impressed and pleased with the results of this moldable epoxy. It takes a little getting used to since its very light and airy feeling when mixing an applying but once cured it is nice and strong. A nice attribute is that it is has such a uniform consistency once cured that it is very easy to sad and chisel to whatever shape you need. just fill th void a little proud of the surface and you can easily modify it to match up exactly then paint it to have a repair that looks as good as new. My only suggestion is to use smooth protective gloves over textured because it does want to stick to the gloves a bit also... not to a bad degree but the smoother the glove the easier it is to mix and mould with your hands.

Easy to use and great results
I wanted to try to repair the bottom corner on a large exterior picture window frame that had about 3" of wood completely rotted out. My goal was to stabilize it for this winter before replacing it next summer. Did the resin step and applied the putty within an hour yesterday afternoon & let it dry overnight. (I am in CO and was pushing the temp. min. for the resin @ 49 degrees, but went ahead and gave it a shot.) Went out today & it was wonderful! Putty was hard as a rock. Sanded & painted within an hour and I couldn't be happier. Love the easy mixability, it's light weight, pliable & the low temp. range on putty is a plus. Big thanks to all the reviewers & the pics... this 'old lady' w/this old house, really relies on honest reviews for all kinds of d.i.y. materials, tools, etc. I'm sure I saved a lot of $$$ & will hopefully do a better 'finish' the next time around when I'm not wearing Sorels & winter gear. ;)

Product - very good; Seller - ?..
Ordered 'System Three Putty' last month for a wood patio project. I had used other types of wood fiiller/putty before, but was not fully satisfied with the workability/outcome/longevity. I had never used the Sys 3 putty previously and was interested in how it would do for this project. Must say that it smells strange upon opening, but after using it, I am quite pleased so far. The putty adheres strongly, is workable, and very sand-able after drying. I went through all of the product and needed a bit more so I ordered it from the seller again. The shipping time was longer than most products from Amazon marketplace for both orders. The 2nd order finally came yesterday and I thought the package was light. Opened it and didn't find any Sys 3 putty, but found a plastic covered cable, although the packing slip said it was the Sys 3 putty, but it wasn't. Tried to get a return for another Sys 3 ship, but it kept saying something is wrong, so I requested a refund instead. Disappointed as my project is on hold, and will have to find another vendor or some other type of exterior high grade wood putty.

the BEST product on the market but too expensive
Hello, I am going through the renovation of my house and I have a lot of rotten woods and beams that I need to take care of. I tried multiple Wood Epoxy products on the market but I have to say that SculpWood Putty Epoxy Filler is by far the best in its category. When you mixed the 2 based epoxy together, the product becomes very nice and soft to work with. Most of products have a texture that is too sticky and liquid but this product doesn't stick all over your hands and gloves and it is like a dough. Very nice to apply and much easier to work with. It adheres and glues great to the wood and it hardens and dries within 6 to 8 hours unlike some other products that take more than 24 hours. As you can see in the picture, I used some small wood parts to fill the big gaps in the rotten beam and applied this product all around the parts so it stick and fills all the empty gaps within the beam. I really LOVE the product, again it is the BEST but unfortunately it's expensive.

Where has this been my entire life?
Where has this stuff been my entire life??? It is truly amazing...unlike plastic wood or any other filler material. I had some rotted out places on the casings and trim of an outdoor door. I cleaned them up with various pointy things until I got to decent wood, then used Elmer's rotted wood stabilizer (another really great product) and then mixed a medium-sized ball of ScupltWood together (rolling it between your hands until it is uniform color works) and started pushing it in. It took me three-four layers to get it done because I wanted it to dry n thinner applications. The final fill (as another reviewer noted) was amazing because you can wet a finger and smooth it out if you keep dipping it in water. I'm not going to sand my application. Rather, Works like modeling clay and stays pitiable for more than enough time. It does not sag so long as you build it up in thin (1/2") coats. I'me going to use a Dremel rotary tool along with tool carving bits to do final finish since it is in cracks and edges that cannot be reached with sandpaper. I would not hesitate to use a drill with a fine grinding stone either. If you take too much out, it is a cinch to refuel. I have filled many pieces of wood over the years -- and just wish I had this stuff going back to my diaper days. One more thing: use the Elmer's on the raw, cut ends of wood before you put them up--it will wick up into it and make it much more water/moisture resistant.

Really cool
This stuff is crazy. It feels like the clay you played with as a child. It's easy to mix. There are two separate plastic containers in the box, both full of a clay-like compound. Put on gloves. Grab about the same amount from each container. Combine them in your hands. Then put the clay on whatever area needs repair. It's easy to work with and dries solid as a rock. It has stuck to everything I've used it on. I used it to fill deep holes on a doorway where hinges used to be and it worked well. I like that it isn't a liquid and it isn't grainy. It also doesn't really have much of a smell. The only advice I'd give you is not to be too heavy handed. It sands beautifully, but it creates a lot of dust.
