The"Prospector" Stainless Steel Double Edge Safety Razor + 5 Stainless Steel Razor Blades from The Handlebar Shaving Company

Been shaving with a double edge for about 4 years now and really enjoy this razor handle. The weight is nice and moderately heavy. The grooves and dimples add for a nice grip and easy maneuvering between fingers. The item is clean and modern in apperance. The shave I get is on the less aggressive side; I end up doing an extra pass to ensure I get the smoothest shave. Used Edwin jagger before this and prefer the weight and design of the handle of this product but prefer the shave aggressiveness of the Edwin jagger.

I really like the razor. I have this one and a Merkur 34c; I wish I had known it was a long handle razor. I prefer the short as I have average hands. However it's good quality and weight. I like the grip on the handle. I shaved with it and it has a good feel even with the long handle. The blades are good too. I would also have like to see a picture of how the three piece comes open; it's a little harder than my Merkur to change blades out. But no real complaints. Overall, I'm very happy.After using this razor for a couple years, I've found that there is inequality in shave from one side to the other. One side shaves much cleaner than the other.

This is my First double edge razor, so no comparisons. I was looking for a way to eliminate the number of ingrown hairs (even with a fresh blade) I was getting ALL & EVERY TIME. It appears that the more blades the worse the situation, I'm sure the problem is the stretch and pull of the hair's then cutting below the skin level. Cost has not been a factor although what I paid for this setup is about the same as a 12 or 15 pack of replacement blades. So after three days..... NO MORE ingrown hair's.Now.... this handle is very comfortable and very sure in hand even while wet. No nicks (slow and precise), using Cremo Shave Cream (base) and Art of Shaving shave cream (on top) and loving life again.

The handle is beefy and we'll made. The head is just cast. Wish they would of made the same quality as the handle. This razor is a little small for my hands. I wear XL mechanics gloves for reference. This is my first experience with a safety razor. By far the closest shave I've ever had, BUT, I had quite a few knicks. Get yourself a styptic pencil for sure if you are new to a safety razor. I think my problem was that I wasn't taking short enough strokes and really has nothing to do with the razor itself.

This razor is perfect. The design looks even better in person, the weight is just right and everything about it is solid. This was my first time shaving with this type of razor and it was very forgiving. You have to work at getting a super close shave, but there is no issue with cuts. Looking forward to years of cheap blade replacements rather than the ridiculous price I've been paying for the vibrating 5 blade nonsense.

YOU JUST FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF WHEN YOU USE "THE PROSPECTOR RAZOR--so manly feeling--great weight--built like the old days. Face as smooth as a baby's butt !!!!! Rid yourself of those cheap plastic bic throw aways and step up to the mans razor The Prospector.

I have been shaving with safety razors for quite some time. Time came to replace my old one, so I went with "The Prospector". At the very first shave I noticed it was much rougher than prior razors I have used. I haven't had a smooth shave since I started with it. I love the weight to it and the tough grip, but I am currently shopping for a replacement head to hopefully provide a smoother shave.

Works as expected. The weighted feel in your hand is perfect.
