A good filter at a good price
I've used this replacement filter for a few years and I'm happy with it. Our city water is supposed to be excellent quality, but who knows what's in the pipes between the source and our kitchen! I only have to change our filter once per year and my before-and-after photo shows how it looks after one year. After installing the filter, I let the water run about 1/2 hour and use a glass to see that it is running clear. It will spatter and splash at first, due to air in the system. One caution: thread the filter carefully onto the filter housing because the plastic threads on the filter are easily damaged if you screw it on crookedly.

Great replacement filter for Multipure
I purchased a different aftermarket filter previously because I was disenchanted with the overpricing for the OEM Multipure MLM filters. But I decided to take a chance again when it came time for replacement, as I just couldn't stomach the amount Multipure is asking for theirs. I'm glad I did, as this turned out to be a great filter. True solid block carbon and an exact fit for the Multipure unit. Filters great and will be my go-to for replacement going forward.

It works
I’ve never had another type of water filter. I’m satisfied with this one. It seems to take chlorine taste out of the water. I would have no knowledge of what other things it takes out, but it works for us.

Absolutely NOT the same
I decided to give this filter a try after reading mostly positive reviews. After installing it and trying it, I'm curious about exactly what kind of taste buds other people have. The filter looks pretty similar to the factory unit, but the outside wrapping is different. Who knows what the inside is, but going by the taste, this filter is definitely not of the same quality. The first and most obvious hint that it wasn't going to be the same, was after I installed it, turned on the water, and opened the faucet. The water comes at at least twice as fast as it did with the factory filter. Water splashed everywhere. I had to turn the water valve to half closed to get a similar water output at the faucet. What this should tell anyone, is that the membrane and carbon are not of the same density as the factory filter. Plus, simple science tells us that the longer and slower water passes through a filter, the more time it has to filter out impurities. (filter types and size being equal of course)The taste was pretty close to tap water, maybe just a bit better, but by no means that "clean clear taste" you expect from filtered or bottled water.I wish it was the same quality, because the factory filter is so much more expensive, but like they say, the Devil is in the details. This filter is nowhere near the quality of the factory one.Its similar to going into a tire store, wanting to get (for instance) Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and the salesman shows you a "similar looking" off brand tire, that the tread looks almost the same.Of course it's not going to perform anywhere near the Michelin, because it takes Michelin millions of dollars and thousands of hours of testing to get the exact compound.Anyway, pay for the factory filter. You'll appreciate it, even if your wallet is a little lighter.

Good filter
Much more inexpensive than filters from the filter company and work just as well.
