I haven't had the opportunity to build a fire and use these yet. However, I have taken them out of the package and they extend smoothly, stay extended, the handles are a good size. The tines are not sharp, but I anticipate that they are fine enough to nicely pierce a marshmallow or hot dog without destroying it. The bag is roomy,and could be a sturdier fabric, but I think will do well enough. All in all, satisfied. Will revisit after use. I did not get skewers, but I don't really need them, so only docking a star because the product description lists them.Update 9/3: We've used these a handful of times, and they work great, but one of them broke when I was trying to clean marshmallow goo off of it. They are flimsier than I would expect for something advertised as 'luxury'. I definitely wouldn't use them for anything heavier than marshmallows.

The Roastix arrived quickly!! I purchased them for a basket that I am preparing for a Silent Auction. There are six expandable Roastix and extra wooden skewers in a very nice, zippered bag. They will work very well for Smores or for roasting hot dogs over a campfire. These are great. Love that they have a really nice case to carry them in, having double prongs helps with the little ones not losing their marshmallows in the fire. Nice long sticks, so no kiddies getting too close to the fire, but because they fold are nice and easy to store. We are not campers, but we use these in our home fire pit. I'm sure the compact length and the carrying case would be great for campers to take on any trip. Would recommend these to any one who roast marshmallows over a campfire or at home in a fire pit.

These are basically what the old radio antennas were made from with fork on the end. Item arrived with one broke off. Of course this was discovered on a spring break trip and I did not return item in time for exchange. Seem to work okay. They do not get hot while roasting marshmellows. Not sure how well they will hold up with hot dogs.

I didn't like the disposable option ....Awesome alternative. They were used with a group of girls at my daughter's sleepover/ camping 10th birthday party and they stood up. We cleaned them the next morning and store them in the included pouch. Highly recommend

Fairly inexpensive so I suppose you get what you pay for. They are cheaply made and will not last more than 1 or 2 camping trips. They bend/break easily. However, they are easy to pack as they pack small and the bag is handy to keep them together.

Love this set! I was buying roller roasters from Restoration Hardware for a single one at the price of this set. I bought two sets - one for us snd one as a gift. Love the little case they come with too. Great addition to our camping trailer. :-)

I purchased these to keep at camp, and they work great! The handles are the perfect size for both small children and adults alike. We have generally used them for marshmallows, but occasionally a hot dog goes over the fire too. The points are not dull, but not overly sharp...worry not about the kiddos harpooning each other. They are telescopic and come with there own bag. I will be buying a couple more as creative gifts.
