Mine didn't last 9 months. The real thing, more expensive, works better (24/7), and lasted close to 2 years. **Q: Roughly how long does this last?** A: The filter should be replaced every 1-3 years, depending on usage and environment. Replacing the wraps on a regular basis (every 3-6 months), will extend the life of the main cartridge. Areas with high humidity, exposure to tobacco smoke or wood smoke, or use in other highly polluted areas will decrease the life of the cartridge. **Q: Does it filter out mold** A: Yes... but, only for those spores that are airborne.
