I bought this sharpener for my wife, who is a professional colored pencil artist. Her comments are as follows: "I like this sharpener a lot! Colored pencil artists like me are always on the look-out for great, portable (i.e., battery-operated) sharpeners, and this one impressed me. I have been using it pretty steadily since it arrived and it performs admirably. I have also taken it to my class for my students to try out, and they loved it, too. My only note is that while it accommodates most colored pencils (Prismacolor, Polychromos, etc.), the aperture is not quite wide enough to admit wider barrel pencils, such as Derwent Coloursoft and Caran d'Ache Luminance." In addition to my wife's comments, I'd like to note that Amaze Tech responded quickly to my order, shipped it promptly, and followed up to ensure it had arrived and that we were satisfied with our purchase. All in all, an excellent buying experience.

LOOK AT THE UNEVEN TIP IN THE SALES PICTURES AND THAT IS WHAT YOU GET. MOST UNEVEN TIP I HAVE EVER HAD, AND WORST SHARPENER THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. UNEVEN TIP + SUPER SHORT CORD + VERY SMALL WASTE COMPARTMENT = REALLY BAD CHOICE.

I has the spiral blades that do such a good job. Now unfortunately it sounds a bit cheap, but it works well, The only real issue is the included USB power supply outputs 6 Volts. This could obviously damage a phone if someone tries to use the power supply for charging a phone. The sharpener work well with 5 Volts, including a 6 Volt USB power supply is a poor decision. I would glue the included power supply and power cord together to prevent this from happening.Otherwise this does a great job and believe it will for many years to come.

Unfortunately, this sharpener did not live up to other reviews. Did it work awesome and sharpen evenly, Yes, right up until it died less than a year after purchasing. I'm very disappointed.

works fine with the usb cord but, does not work with the electrical cord?

I have owned various electric pencil sharpeners for about 30 years now. This Amazetech is simply the best. A needle sharp point in a flash - every time. I plugged it into a wall socket and stuck in a dull pencil. Accustomed to sluggish response I pushed with a fair amount of pressure - oops, mistake. Zip, there went a half-inch of pencil. I broke off the lead and gave it another kinder, gentler attempt and was rewarded with a another needle point without sacrifice of pencil length. I broke off the lead once again and plugged the sharpener into my laptop's USB port. Again a very fast needle point, but with less power easier to "feel" and control. I will use it only with USB, which is cool, just the way I was hoping. This product is superb - no negatives whatsoever.

Used this to sharpen a handful of pencils as soon as it was out of the box. It works really well: perfect points, pretty quickly. It’s small enough to keep in my kitchen drawer for handy access and I’m really happy it’s electric rather than just batteries because otherwise I fear the batteries would expire between uses.

This product did not last and broke very quickly after I bought it. I would not recommend and ended up purchasing another brand.
