Richard Brown's Replica Watch Report: Volume 1
If you are an entry level watch collector then this book is for you. It is not for the guru level watch aficionado. The level of information and facts are sparse to be polite. I thought this book would be chock-full of information but it was the exact opposite. The pictures were in black 'n' white and grainy at best. The illustrations look as if a cheap printer was used to reproduce the pictures. It was like looking at a print-out on an old school dot matrix printer where you can see the horizontal lines on the page (pictures only). I will still add this book to my Rolex library but it will not be a showpiece when guests come over. In fact, I will remove it from my shelf and put it in a drawer when esteemed guests visit. I want a book with full color photos on high gloss pages with extensive backgrounds about each watch, it's history, it's features and how each came about, it's current list price as well as past year's listing prices going back 10 years or more and how to tell the real from the fake ones (what features to look out for) and all that in plain English. I have found excellent books like that (features described above) in full color and brimming with valuable info but in a foreign language. This book did point out features to look out for in deciphering fakes from the real thing but duplicated that information when referring to other Rolex models and watch brands other than Rolex. I will say that the book has an excellent cover but that can be dangerous because it leads the consumer to believe that they are buying a top-notch, professional, luxury watch book and not something slapped together hastily by a non-watch aficionado who probably doesn't own a Rolex themselves and ergo does not share the same passion for a prestigious timepiece such as a Rolex or Cartier. To reiterate, I didn't feel that this book was written by someone who was passionate about watches based on the entries I read that mentioned that certain watches were from other owners, etc. It basically repeats the same information over and over and is for entry level watch lovers. I am a seasoned pro at identifying fake Rolexes and I thought I would learn a lot of new methods of high end watch identification from this book but it was disappointing at best. I might have noted a few tips but nothing like The Rolex Report or A Movement in Time With Breitling & Rolex. It turns out I could have taught the author a thing or two that would have been a positive contribution to this book. In all, it isn't a lost cause for some as there will be entry level users who will rave about this book, I suspect. It's just that with more experience and knowledge base in my repertoire of Rolex reference material, it is difficult to "wow" the senses of a more experienced reader of this type of reference guide. After all, the bar has been raised several times by other publishers of quality materials before this book ever came along.

Replica Watch Report, Buyer Beware
A let down. Although it had some decent content, nothing you couldn't find on a quick internet search, the overall layout of the book was bad. All pages had the appearance of cheap photo copies, all pictures were black and white grainy copies. If your looking for a reference book or table book on watches this isn't it. It did have a few good tips on identifying replicas on certain makes and models but overall a let down.

Fantastic Information
A great book, I found out so much about the in's and out's of how to see a dodgy watch from a genuine one, I like to buy replica Rolex watchers, so this book helped me to see just how much the watchers i buy are close of far from the originals, again a great buy.

Didn’t read it but it’s necessary for shopping on Amazon and EBay.
How ironic, an Amazon book to educate and inform the reader on how to spot a fake Rolex, and you can also buy the very best fake rolexes here on Amazon. It’s full circle shopping Amazon style.

Good basic info
Slightly outdated for new counterfeit watches. Pictures could be better.
