I found this to be a versatile and effective tool. Having it so the blades can be switched out eliminates having a extra tool in the drawer. Finally, I love the strong construction and quality materials in the press. When buying on-line, you have to read the reviews and consider construction materials. The few poor recommendations generally had to do with inserting the blades. So, when it came, I double checked how the blade already inserted was positioned to make sure I didn't mess it up. Later, I saw that it has the word "Up" on the blade - you just have to know that up means that the name of the tool is right side up or stop to think that down would be the direction the garlic is pressed out. I recommend it.

I had to return mine - for multiple reasons. I so wanted to LOVE this product, figuring it's a great 2-in-1 product. Unfortunately, it does not stack up. Using the slicer or mincer - it just makes more of a mess it seems. More garlic seems to get stuck IN it than comes out of it. That I could have dealt with. The issue I had was that the removable inserts in the handle would either get stuck or not stay in at all. And it is very easy to put them in the wrong way and not know it.I will be watching reviews going forward to see if the makers correct the issue of the inserts being confusing as to which way they go in. Maybe if that changes, my next one won't have a slicer insert that just falls right out and a mincer insert that gets stuck.

OK I finally broke down and used the Exquisite Garlic Press,The Interchangeable pieces do not always stay in place and the garlic whether crushed or sliced has to be removed manually. Otherwise it is not only functional but it is also Pretty

I bought this item at the end of January and it is now broken and unusable. Unfortunately it is beyond the return date. If you cook often this is not the garlic press for you. I cook almost daily and we use a lot of garlic. After using it only a few months it cracked and the piece that holds the plates in place broke off completely. Very disappointed I had my Pampered Chef one for almost 20 years and needed a new one this one didn't last 20 weeks.

Love it! I've used the slicer and press and both do a wonderful job and are easy to clean. Especially love the slicer - fingers are safe and no longer smell of garlic when I want slices!

Pros -1. Very durably built.2. Thoughtfully designed.3. Cool features of being able to change blades.Cons -1. Does not get the most out of your garlic. Quite a bit is wasted and not pressed thru and stuck in the gaps.2. Slicer blades are widely spaced and not so sharp. Garlic gets crushed rather than sliced when pressed through. Definitely must peel the garlic before using slicer.3. Handles are too close together when at the critical point to push the garlic thru the press. A normal hand does not have a strong grip leverage when that tightly closed. Would be better if the handles been bigger with both Apex angles not less than 0 degrees as the press seems to want to slip out of your grip.4. Not as easy to clean as expected. Can be difficult to remove the bottom portion once the garlic is pressed thru it.I really wanted to give it 5 stars but fell short.

Was really looking forward to using this product for a long time, but the metal frame cracked on the third clove.

Love it! Any way you need your garlic, it covers it. Easy to clean.
