I have nothing positive to say about this device because it came with NO INSTRUCTIONS WHATSOEVER and made very flimsy.

Thinking about exploring BLE beacons? This is a great beacon for you. Recognized by IOS and several Android devices and versions. Purchased for checking TI CC2540/2541 chip compatibility. Packaged in a plastic snap case, reasonably protected for indoor and retail display applications. Long range, achieved 50M outdoor easily. Dual AA batteries should give long operating life. No documentation shipped but seller website has info and APPS. Recommended.

Good battery life.It is just a simple ibeacon device. Ibeacons are recognized by android mobile devices as well. Going to use to test my BLE enabled app. Didn't try programming it. I don't even need to program it. Thinking of using LI ion battery, when using it in production, so that the battery need not be changed often.

I put in some batteries, turned the switch on, and my phone detected an iBeacon.
