You Can Fly With No Hassle
From the outset, as someone who flies to the Northwest from the Eastcoast frequently, I found this book to be one of the most helpful of guides. As a seasoned traveler I learned a great deal. This book is very well organized, easy to read and full of information at every turn.I learned early on that a non-stop flight was the best for me. I am fairly comfortable that my luggage will arrive with me. I am always at the airport two hours before take-off, check in and have time for coffee. One of the most security minded airports I have found is in Portland, Oregon. Several times over the Christmas holidays it has take over an hour to get through security. All luggage was inspected as it was checked, and I had just enough time to get to my gate. The author, Lynnette Hartwig, has given me so many good solutions, ideas and information, that I will be a much better traveler. This book is highlighted for first time travelers, but I think this is a book for everyone. The author covers everything from A to Z. Lynnette starts off with a discussion about Great Flights, how to have one. She covers travel insurance, not needed, luggage, weight of luggage, airports, TSA, boarding, flying, Jet lag, sleeping, layovers, lost bags, packing list, and useful websites. One of the most useful chapters - ' 11 things To Know'-the statistics of developing blood clots, if you are over 40, after flying four hours or more are higher than you think - wear support stockings and take ibuprofen, walk the aisles every couple of hours. If your flight is canceled, you will be provided a hotel room and transportation to and from, only if you booked the flight directly from the airline. Using Orbitz or another like minded site will not get you a free hotel room. And, if your fight is canceled, ask for Incidentals Money , this is usually $50 and is not offered, but it is your right. Things I never knew.I usually check flights from a site and then go to the airline and purchase my ticket. I found I am doing the right thing. Also, flights are cheaper, Tues-Thursday, so try to book those dates if it works for you. One other very useful piece of info is how and what to pack. Rolling your clothes is the best method, and really thinking about what you need. Really, every chapter is well worth reading, and I cannot say enough positive things about this flying guide. I will keep this high on my kindle for quick perusal. The hotel check in late guide is very useful, as is taking a photo of your checked bag. So much to know, and it is all in this book. Note: I was provided this book to read and review.Highly Recommended. prisrob 03-23-14

It puts the tasks into a nice framework. I never buy trip insurance and this ...
Before heading out on my last flight, I read this book cover to cover. I'm not sure how much new information I acquired, but the book certainly reminded me of many things that I had forgotten about. One aspect of Lynnette's writings that I really appreciate is that everything is covered in detail in a highly organized fashion. The timetable for getting set for the big day, is an example of this. It puts the tasks into a nice framework. I never buy trip insurance and this section of the book reinforced why I make that choice. I like books that are quick and easy to read and full of invaluable information, this is one of them.

Absolutely NOT just for first-timers
The only real problem with Flying for First Timers is the title. Although I have been taking airplanes an average of once or twice a year for the past forty tears, I still found many actionable tips that would have saved me time, money or energy if I had known them earlier. Even at $6.25 (the cost of the paperback) this book would be worthwhile. If you ever plan go somewhere by plane, you owe it to yourself to read this book from cover to cover.這本書最顯著的缺點是書名,不管你是第一次還是第二十次,連我四十年以來平均一年坐一兩次飛機還是有用,幾乎每一頁都有寶貴的旅遊訊息,平裝價$6.25絕對『值回票價』!

Super helpful
I haven't flown in over 20 years and was frankly really nervous about all of the changes not just with security but well everything. After reading this book I now feel confident that I will have a great flight!

Good reminder even for seasoned travelers.
Enjoyed reading the tips even though I have traveled many times. Some of her tips were new. The security information was up to date. Never hurts to refresh one's memory to make travel less hassle.

Brilliant!
Excellent advice, I wish I'd been able to read it before my first flight many years ago. It explains everything you need to know, set out in an succinct way, and gives lots of good tips even for those who have flown many times.
