Buildup? Protective barrier really work?** A: Hello: Our Boston Terrier had a very serious allergy issue when we used it. We applied two to three times per day, kind of as needed. How often would probably depend on your pets condition. There is no build up, it is a fine mist and dissipates rather quickly. We applied just enough to get the top of the fur lightly wet. It does work great. The itching immediately would stop. Odie would be on his back wriggling around trying to scratch his back and as soon as this was sprayed on, he would stop. This would give you some idea as to how often to use by how long it takes for your pet to show agitation again after an application. We used this through his worst time and give him a 10mg Zyrtec daily to help control his allergy issue on a long term basis. We keep it on hand though to use when he shows distress of itching, which is not very often but it does happen. I hope this helps. **Q: What is the expiration date?** A: there is no expiration date that I am aware of **Q: can it be used on the skin of belly and legs or just the back of dog** A: Hello I used it all over my dog who had the worst skin I had ever seen. It works well. If you have a question a quick call to your vet should answer your question. It did help him a lot. Sorry to say we lost him to something else. He was 14+ years old. **Q: Can this be used after a groomer trimmed too short in the hygiene area of our Cavalier? She is licking at that area a lot.** A: I would be very sparing using it. It could burn a little but will quiet the itching.
