That Boss...
Still love Midnight Secretary, and the romantic duo that's happening makes me so happy. Now if only the boss would get his head out of his...well you get the picture. Haha.

Surprisingly good
~3.5-4/5[More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.](Contains some spoilers.)The first chapter or two of this volume was much like that last few: not very good. It just hasn’t been making me want to read it. I almost even put off buying this volume.I think the main reason was that I was just not feeling the relationship between the characters. Nothing big was happening between them, it seemed like they both knew Kyohei’s feelings and yet neither were doing anything about it, and their chemistry had just disappeared. At one point in this volume, I was even wondering why Kaya likes him. He was just showing absolutely no likeable characteristics, he wasn’t being nice to her or even welcoming, and yet she was following loyally behind him. It was starting to drive me insane. But about halfway through the volume, they were finally taking a step forward. Their romance was finally admitted to, Kyohei finally bucked up to his feelings, and even did it publicly. I was finally feeling their relationship, their chemistry, again. It was almost a relief, I was so happy. Now it seems like they get to become more comfortable romantically with each other, which I look forward. The vampire community, and Kyohei’s family, is what seems to be the next problems. There are only a couple volumes left, so I look forward to seeing how the series ends.

Defining Their Relationship
Author/Illustrator Tomu Ohmi hit her stride by volume 4 and tightened both the story and the artwork. In this, Volume 5 of 7, the couple confront their true feelings for each other and finally recognize they are more than their labels (secretary, vampire).Kaya is still unsure about the nature of Kyouhei's relationship with fellow vampire Marika. She is told it is one of mutal backgrounds: both ostracized by the vampire community. But Marika does not like Kyouhei's interest in Kaya and fears his secretary is destroying everything in which he takes pride. But Kyouhei knows what he wants and if it takes drastic measures such as blood substitute tablets, he will do it.This volume is an exploration of their roles: is Kaya more than just a secretary and what exactly does it mean that Kyouhei is a vampire. For those roles are keeping the two apart and they will have to really recognize their true selves in order to move the relationship further.Reviewed from an ARC

Lovely
I like this volume for a few reasons. One is that you finally find out how Kyohei feels about Kaya which has been avoided in the previous volumes. The truth will no doubt provide interesting obstacles for them both. The introduction of Marika has also added another dimension, the relationship between her and Kyohei is still to be explained...

After reading the first volume I became hooked. The graphics are great, the story line is intriguing and keeps you guessing. If you like your non-typical vampire/human romance I would definitely recommend giving these a go.
