(After research, I’m pretty sure it was a huge wolf spider.) I am SO GLAD these awful creatures got stopped in their tracks!!! Naturally they weren’t dead yet so I sprayed them with a bug spray that includes spiders (but only kills them on contact). The liquid enabled them to get free of the sticky glue, but they didn’t get far because the spray poison started to kill them pretty quickly. What a way to wake up! I hardly need my cup of coffee now, except to calm down. I’m going to deploy even more of these now, all around my apartment! Before, I didn’t want too many because of the risk of stepping on them, it’s enough just to step over the thresholds where I placed the cards a week ago. But now that I know what icky creepy crawlers are moving around, I’m going to take out more from the box and place them all around. They’re easy to put in place, and I can easily remove and throw away and replace them with new cards as needed. PS—two days later and there was another big wolf spider apparently trying to leave my apartment under the front door.
