Not for Hardcore Sim Racers
This is a great wheel. The paddles are metal and give a satisfying click. The switches and buttons are nicely located and easy to reach with your thumbs. It's got rubberized grips and a good weight to it. Yes, it's a bummer that the dial switches are fake and the stickers around them are, well, just stickers. But for the price, this wheel is still very pretty and feels great in your hands. When mine's not mounted on my wheel base, I display it on a shelf because it's a great piece of art as well.I've got mine mounted on a Thrustmaster T500rs base. I predominantly play F1 and Project CARS on PS4. I Own multiple rims for my T500rs and this is my go-to for most open wheel racing. It works very well with the games I play and transmits the T500's force feedback very nicely. In fact I think it's lighter than all the other Thrustmaster rims so you definitely feel the most FFB with this. This wheel has enough buttons to give console players all the functionally they can get out of a wheel. There are enough buttons to correspond with all the buttons on PS4/XB1 controllers. PC racers might find that the fake dial switches hinder their experience with this wheel though depending on how many buttons they need to assign. For casual and even semi serious sim racers, this wheel offers plenty and will do the job nicely for you. Hardcore sim racers might find this wheel to be more of a toy though and opt for something more realistic. But the price jump between this wheel and a more realistic F1 style wheel is quite steep.

Lots of buttons.
I mainly bought this because I like having lots of buttons. This thing does not disappoint in that area. I've used it regularly for about 8 months and it seems to be holding up well. Everything works very precisely. I only use this one wheel, so I have not swapped it out with others with the TX base... no idea about the viability or durability of that feature. All of the dial-type switches that you see in the picture that are in the "hub" part of the wheel are just fakes/decals. Which is a little cheesy and unfortunate, IMO. I'm a real tifosi, so I appreciate the Ferrari logo, but I think this thing would look less like a toy without the fake switches. The wheel is also, like every other game controller I've ever come across, smaller scale than real life. All in all, if you have this base and need a controller with lots of buttons, I think this is your only option. It works great for me, though and ironically is one of the less expensive wheels for this base.

More immersion when playing F1 2012
Needless to say, this is an expensive "add-on" but still well worth it if you play Formula1 a lot and have some some spare change lying around. The firmware in the wheel has to be updated in order for the housing to recognize the wheel. The download worked exactly as described and the wheel functions normally. Far and away, the most significant feature of this wheel is the fact that the paddle shifters rotate with the wheel like every other wheel on the market (with the exception of the T500RS). I also discovered a feature not frequently talked about but true to actual F1 wheels ..... you can actually upshift and downshift with either paddle. If you configure the game to upshift with the right paddle and downshift with the left (customary) you can downshift with the right and upshift with the left by pushing the paddles forward instead of pulling them towards you. It may not sound like much but it can free one hand while you answer the phone or take a sip of coffee and still being able to up and down shift when needed with the remaining hand. The large rotary dials in the center section are non-functional and are visual esthetics only. The push buttons, toggle switches and two rotary thumb-wheels provide all the functions normally programmed by any game. Some people have complained about the buttons being hard to access while driving but this is a subjective perspective. It feels difficult at first, especially if you are switching from a wheel with the buttons closer, but after a couple days of racing, they fall into place accordingly. Same can be said for the D-Pads .... they are smaller and stiffer and feel different, but they just require getting used to them, that's all. Also, and very importantly, the GT wheel and the F1 Ferrari wheel can be switched out with each other in about 30 seconds once you've done it once. The wheel comfort isn't as good as the GT wheel but nothing to be concerned about.UPDATE .... one of the toggle switches failed within 6 months. It wasn't like it failed to the point where it wasn't operational, it shorted out somehow in a way that affected nine other buttons on the wheel. When I contacted Thrustmaster they made me provide a video uploaded to their server with the unit connected to their online control panel in order to prove to them that it was indeed defective. Then I had to pay shipping cost to return it to their service facility in Montreal. Apparently, it wasn't a simple matter of replacing the toggle switch as they sent me a complete new wheel about 2.5 weeks later. Still I'm removing one star for the defect and difficulty that I had in getting the issue resolved.

Fake dials but feels but better drive ability than their overrated Thrustmaster-VG-Open-Wheel-Add-PC
I have owned this wheel for over 3 years and the Thrustmaster-VG-Open-Wheel for 2 years. This racing wheel does not look as good a the Thrustmaster F1 racing wheel but its is sturdier and less play and more realistic that the TM VG Open wheel. This wheel is more precise by far that the TM VG open wheel. There is an adherent turn lag in the overrated TM VG Open Wheel that is obsolete in this showy wheel.I have several wheel s but this one stays in my servo. You need this wheel

At last, an affordable F1 wheel
The wheel feels great. Feedback is even better through this addon wheel than the one that came with the Thrustmaster T300. (YES! IT WORKS WITH THAT BASE!)As noted in other reviews, the 5 center dials are purely cosmetic. They are actually molded plastic, part of the wheel casing and do not turn at all. There are PLENTY of other controls that give you exactly what you want, where you want it. For instance, the two thumb wheels are positioned within easy reach to make adjustments to brake balance, fuel mixture, etc., while racing. One of the best purchases I have made.
