I bored a small hole through the support to accommodate the wire/transducer. On the outside face I installed PVC pipe and fittings routed to the pool approx. 3' below the water surface, offering greater protection for the wire/transducer assembly. Water temp. is now readily available at a glance. No more placing my solar temp sensor into the pool, turning it on, waiting for the sensor to run through 2 cycles making sure the sensor had stabilized and leveled out, then reading the temperature. However the Ambient transducer is located approx. 3' under the surface. So it would make sense that the reading taken deeper would register a slightly cooler temperature. The readings were taken at the same time of day about 2 minutes apart from each other.
