It works, and no issues at all
I don't have good indoor storage for my bikes. They sit in my driveway, under covers, and I've tried both this and another brake lock (the kind that goes on the metal brake whatchamacallit at the wheel). I like this better, easier to use since it doesn't require bending over to the ground basically to set or remove. Also, the other type has an alarm, which I accidentally trip if I bump the bike at all. It's ear-shattering and I hate it. This, on the other hand, doesn't have an alarm, but I still feel like it does an excellent job deterring theft. I just decided to buy another one, for my other bike. They work great on both my Ninja 1000 and Harley Sportster. I considered buying a cheaper brand for half price of this, but the reviews were VERY mixed. This is a good brand, solid and built to last. The portability of it is excellent, too. It's pretty beefy, but also not extremely heavy. Feels like thick aluminum. Overall, I'm very happy with this, and am buying another one now...

Added layer of security!
It is super important to read the instructions, or if you lose them, go to their website and download their instructions via PDF. I lost my instructions and I wish I hadn't because I had caused some minor damage to my grips not knowing how to properly mount the grip.First, some important pointers:The lock comes with several rubber pieces that you can put inside of the openings to close the hole, depending on the size of grip you have. The smaller size grip you have, the more rubber pieces you will need to implement in order for this lock to be effective. My grip runs a little on the large size, diameter wise, so when I put this guy on the first time, I did so improperly and the next morning I realized the lock had literally cut into my grips. I was a little disappointed by this, but I couldn't fault the company because I had thrown away the instructions. The actual pieces meant to line the inside of the lock don't stick very well. They do have adhesive on the backs but I found the adhesive did a really terrible job of keeping the rubber in place so you may want to look into glue or some other type of adhesive to make sure the rubber pieces are in place. Word of advice: make sure the adhesive is completely set before you mount on your grips / brake or throttle because if you don't, they'll come flying out when you release the lock later, and then you're taking the chance of losing them completely when the lock springs out. You'll want to make sure you test the lock the first time before using it for a good eight hours. If the lock looks like it's damaging your grips, make sure you put some rubber pieces inside the lock to fill that hole OR alternatively, use your own material to insulate the inside of the lock and prevent damage from occurring to your grips. Also, if the lock is damaging your grips, you may not be placing them in the proper location so test around for the right location on your grips. Like I said, use the rubber pieces and follow the instructions if you can. My grip was too large to use any of the rubber pieces without cutting into my grips, so I opted out of using them.Bottom line is this a great product as long as you can follow the instructions. The lock is sturdy and will do a good job locking the grip / brake (or throttle together). The adhesive on the rubber pieces will likely do nothing for you so be prepared to use some other type of adhesive to make sure these guys stay in place. Location and placement of the grip lock is crucial for not only the welfare of your grips but also ease in locking and unlocking the grip lock when you dismount / mount your bike. The lock is an excellent deterrent but you will probably need other security mechanisms because if someone wants to steal your bike, I can tell you three things that would make it possible if this grip lock was the only thing on the bike. But it is really great for an added layer of security if you have other things like disc locks or gps monitoring or chains, etc that will help keep this thing secure.

Quick Easy Security and Piece of Mind
Nice grip-lock. It's definitely solid and the red color is an eye-catcher on my flat gray Vespa. The inserts are nice to get the exact right size to keep the throttle from turning and the break tight.Pros:1. Highly Visible2. Keeps Throttle and wheel from turning3. Solid construction makes it not look worth messing with for thieves - There isn't a good place to put bolt cutters on the lock to disable it.Cons:1. A little larger than I expected, could not be held in the pocket of hipster skinny jeans.2. The locking button is a little tight at first and difficult to lock and unlock in some situations - I wouldn't want to leave it out in the rain for days on end, but it works great for long-term under a cover.3. The lock initially scratched my break lever the first time I used it before adding the spacers, I wish the interior had a thin rubber guard to protect the bike partsI would buy this item again as I feel that it's the easiest solution to basic security. It would be very simple to cut the break line and roll the bike away, but my assumption is that someone willing to do that will be able to steal the bike no matter what security solution you have.

Definetly worth the money... Solid product!
Fantastic quality and good practical device. Feels very solid and it definetly makes a clear deterrent for anyone looking for a quick and fast get away. While I am pretty sure somwone with the tools ans determination could break this item, I am very sure this would not a quiet, or unnoticeable procedure.I am very satisfied with my purchase so far, and believe the item was worth the money I put into it.Pros:-Strong - Heavy duty metal-Small, easy to carry in a backpack/carrying case.-Looks good, makes you feel better about leaving your motorcycle in a place for a while-Very obvious- Definetly noticeable. Dont take this for granted, as it makes a big statement to thiefs on one hand, and reminds you to unlock it before driving off ( my friend fell of his bike the other day because he put a disk protector, and forgot to take ot off, beforw driving off... needless to say, expensive mistake).-it comes with little rubner pads of various sizes to mKe sure the best possible fit to your bike handle size... this is terrific!Cons:-If not removed carefully, when you are unlocking it, you could tare/scratch the rubber in the handle. I can definetly see this becoming an issue with time, if you do not treat it correctly.-Extra weight to carry-could still be removed with heavy tools, and some time.Overall, I give this 4.5 stars oit of five. Since I cannot do .5, I decided that I still like it enough to click on all 5!I look forward updating in a about a year after purchase..
