I bought this lock because the Lockpicking Lawyer on YouTube praised it. I was hoping that I could use it with my 3/8" (10mm) Laclede security chain. I am happy to report that both ends of the chain fit just fine in the shackle, with room to spare. This is a very heavy duty lock with a Molybdenum shackle, which is supposedly much stronger than hardened steel. It also has security features that make it a solid security device and a great bargain. Look up the Lockpicking Lawyer's review on YouTube and I think you will be sold, like I was.

sturdy solid lock. I doubt any normal punk could crack it. I feel safe with it. my grandfather is a master locksmith and this is the product he recommended for the storage unit I keep my motorcycle in.

Using it for driveway gate.

This is a good lock but it will NOT fit a half-inch (1/2) chain because when the lock's shackle is "pressed in" (in the locked position) it does not have enough space in the shackle for the chain links to fit sufficiently. The good news is I was able to find this exact same Toledo lock but with a LONGER shackle. It's available on Home Depot's website. It's part number: TBK92R.If you "don't" need a longer shackle, than this Toledo lock will do, but if you need a lock with more space and a longer shackle, order the other Toledo lock from Home Depot's website!

Lock is solid, mostly. Lock picking Lawyer says so. I agree. Had to return this one because Master M930XKADLH was better.
