They began expanding. Put pillow cases on them and threw them on the bed. They continued to "magically" grow and fill the pillow case. Surprisingly, the next 2 or 3 nights in a row I think they continued swelling. Each night they seemed bigger and fluffier than the previous night seemingly confirmed as each night the pillow case seemed tighter around the pillow. It helps reactivate the foam. The longer I have the pillow the more I need to wash it. I bought my initial pillow 7 years ago. The last year it seems I am having to wash it once every 2 months now. I wash it on cold and dry it in med heat for 1 cycle. Then let air dry for a day or so, if u don’t it will be damp to sleep on. After 7 years It may be time for a new pillow. I love this pillow. **Q: Is this a soft or firm? it comes in both so i want to be sure i know what i’m getting because i buy this pillow often.** A: it is shredded memory foam so it will be soft after it puffs up **Q: How to wash this pillow.
