The first option is very bright indeed. It would be a very useful tool to keep in your car and the strobe light would be excellent in an emergency. Also its stands very well on a surface. Its only annoying feature is that the on switch is at the back which is not useful when groping for it in the dark. Also you can then be blinded by its brightness, so you have to look away. Overall its a very good product, and good value for money.
