Zebco Rhino Spincast Fishing Reel, 3 Bearings, Instant Anti-Reverse with Smooth, Precisely-Aligned Gears

I really, really like this reel. I had one for 10 years or so and it gave out this spring. Always liked that one, so decided to get this one. This newer one feels even more smooth, solid than the first (although, that one was a good 10 years old). Instant, no-miss pick-up with 8lb test, nice long casts through the medium action Ugly Stick, medium-speed retrieve (admittedly, the retrieve could be a little faster), and no-tangle winding onto the spool. Casts just as far, if not farther, with a small Rebel Crawdad that's 1/10th oz than my brother-in-law with his fancy $200 baitcasters and spinning reels. I think there are two sizes of this Rhino Spincast. The one I bought is the smaller, fits perfectly into my medium large hand and seems perfectly matched to the 6' medium action Ugly Stick. I fish maybe 10 times per year, including one week straight vacationing on a Michigan lake for largemouth bass, smallies, crappie, rockbass, bluegills, shellcrackers (redear sunfish)....anything in the lake, really, mostly with spinning baits and plugs. This reel suits me just fine for the standard stuff.

I bought this for my 8 year old grandson thinking it would be easy for him to learn how to cast and fish. Our first outing with this reel was a disaster. The drag wheel had very little adjustment. Even at the least drag position, there was way too much resistance. And after the third time that the line got all tangled inside, I was done trying to fix it and he had to share a pole with his brother. Soooo disappointing.

You can't beat Zebco for the money. This is a great reel for ultra light fishing. I use it for crappy and other pan fish. Sturdy and reliable.

Takes me back to when I was a kid fishing at the lake. Same great Zebco reel that's always been my favorite. Best thing? You never get the line tangled due to backlash.

A good reel, but loaded with cheap fluorocarbon line, not the red line it advertised.

My grandson loved everything about it this real was everything he dreamed about for catching his 1st f ish well made good quality

Do not buy this product used it twice and the reel broke and will not reel in the line !!!! Total waste of money . Expected to at least get a couple of years out of it but got about a dozen casts .
