Review: Access to top shelf storage! Great quality. - This is a very good addition to any upper cabinet. I'm 5' 2". Finally, I have access to the upper shelf storage in my kitchen. I would buy more, but this is only available in 24" and 36" inches. My other cabinets are 30". If they made one in that size, I would buy it in a minute. Pros: Well designed Sturdy Easy to use Gives access to usually inaccessible upper shelves. Cons: A bit complicated to install. The instructions could be better.

The reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the "equalizer" bar which is supposed to keep both arms moving together. Unfortunately, my 24 inch cabinets are 23 7/8 inches inside, and using the 'side mount' method, the arms are spread too wide to allow the equalizer bar to be installed. Although the system still works well enough, you can tell that the bar should be there.

**Q: What is the minimum cabinet highth the shelf will work in?**
A: Minimum Opening Height: 18-5/16 Inches.

**Q: How far away from cabinet below does this one pull down?  I'm wanting to pull it down over a microwave cabinet.**
A: It pulls out and locks in the down position over your counter top.  My recollection is that it barely misses the bottom of the cabinet coming out.  Not designed to pull out far from the cabinet just down for accessibility

**Q: How many dishes can it hold?**
A: Not sure because I use mine for cooking oil and other condiments but I would guess it would at least hold service for eight.

**Q: Are the wire shelves removable from the frame?**
A: Each wire shelf is held in place by four screws on the underside, two on each side, to brackets that project from the vertical side panels.  The shelves can be removed, but the unit would then not have cross support between the vertical side pieces.  I suppose the shelves could be replaced with wood shelves cut to the correct length.

It is a bit pricey, but works perfectly. The shelf installation should be fine if you are experienced with such things. The shelf comes down smoothly and can be locked in the down position (useful when you are working nearby and need to go back and forth). The storage space is ample and the basket shape is useful as it allows odd shaped items to be placed without them falling out. I wish there were more manufacturers who made such products. Also, it would have been nice to have a similar product for narrower cabinets (e.g 12in).
