A Must-Have For the Modern Man
What a refreshing guide to women that takes its information from one of history's most knowledgeable men on the subject of women---Giacomo Casanova. What stands out in this book on the art of seduction is that nothing has changed between men and women. Men still don't know what women want, and women still think that men don't know how to treat a woman right. Men can learn a lot by following the advice of a man who understood women, knew what they wanted, and knew what made them tick. So, what DO women want? In a word: attention. Forget Sex & The City! Women want to be respected, loved, treated with (some say old-fashioned) courtesy and gallantry, all the ideas considered antiquated by many 21st century liberals. Women want to be courted, appreciated for their opinions as well as their beauty, and cherished. Women want to feel like the most important person in a man's mind. And that's what Casanova can teach you. This little book could well change your love life. Can you afford not to get it?

A Very Informative and Entertaining Read
I found this book very informative and entertaining. Not only did I learn a lot about Casanova. A person who's name we have all heard and labeled as the ultimate womanizer. Which in some ways was not necessarily the case. I highly recommend this book to single men as well as those that are married and in committed relationships. It is an excellent guide book on how to meet and treat women with respect and kindness.

Cute!
This one was fun and cute to read. I finished it in under two hours. A bit too simple for a cultivated gentleman like myself, but it will surely serve its purpose for the novice or the one who doesn't wish to dig too deep in the art of seduction. If on the other hand, from this book you get inspired to read the timeless classic "History of My Life" by Giovanni Giacomo Casanova, then get the translated version by Willard R. Trask, which has vol. 1 and 2. The Art of Love by Ovid is also another great classic.

Over Priced
NOT RECOMMENDED. I should have judged the book by its cover. I was looking for a summary of Casanova's 12 volume autobiography. This is not it. This is a large font 120 page, overly wordy and redundant exploitation of Casanova's reputation that could fit into a 7 page pamphlet and isn't forth the shipping charges. Fair price? $2.

Very well written, and researched
This book is more than just a lesson in how to seduce a woman, it's a portrait of a well known historical figure. In going through the various "lessons" the authors give a lot of information about the man Giacomo Casanova. Quotes from his writings are given, and even some stories from his youth are told. I was surprised to find out how much information the book actually had! This book shows hard work in research, and was extremely well written! The authors also do a fantastic job of connecting the seduction of life in Casanova's time, to our time! Not just a book about how to seduce, but a great portrait of one of the world's greatest lovers!

Secrets No More
This informative and highly entertaining book shows how seduction is an art that can be learned. It also provides historical background on the legendary lover through excerpts from his memoirs as well as sociological insights about his times. Many of the secrets imparted in this book may surprise even the most jaded reader. A good read overall.

A fascinating book
Like most people, when I hear the name Casanova, I think of sex. The author offers a more rounded view of a fascinating man who has come to be defined by a single facet of his complex life. Casanova mingled with prostitutes and kings, actors and bishops, a Tsarina and famous courtesans, nobility and tradesmen. He wrote about all of them, detailing their lives and loves, their triumphs and travails. He seemed to be in perpetual motion, travelling throughout Europe and into Russia, never living anywhere for more than two years. Even his mode of travel was unique. He used public transportation rather than the private coaches used by most travelers of the day. He hitchhiked and even sailed on slave-galleys. He wrote about it all, a veritable treasure trove of information for historians. He details the inns, apartments, castles and prisons where he stayed or was forced to stay. He loved food, leaving a record of hundreds of meals, many of which featured dishes that are mentioned nowhere else and would have been lost to history if not for Casanova's writings. As for his supposedly insatiable sexual appetite, the author rightly points out that his sex life was normal for men who had no fixed address, constantly moving around. More than a few of his contemporaries recorded more numerous encounters than Casanova. This is an extremely well written book that brings to life both a man and his times.

It does not apply
Casanova sometimes resorted to what we call date rape and most other times combined charm with lots of money to get women. And he was a child molester to boot. I find his technique lacking(it is not the key to getting any woman)and simple(combine charm with money and of course you will get women). The thing about Casanova was that he was a good guy and he wasn't only after sex. He treated his women well. Still, I have to wonder what would have happened to him if he had been at any one spot long enough for women to accumulate. He was a traveller and left lovers behind. FAR behind.Let us not see things that are not there.
