Review: I came back 3 years later to buy this knife again! - I bought one of these in 2017 for myself. I found it to be a pretty great all-around knife if you’re ok with exchanging utility of use for the inconvenience of a bulky, large-ish, fixed blade knife. It’s inexpensive enough that you can really put it to work without fear. A friend of ours really dug it, so I gifted him mine. I’ve been missing that knife for a couple years, so I ordered and just received a new one. I’m pretty pleased overall with this knife. It’s heavy in the way you’d want a tool like this to be. It comes very sharp and holds an edge pretty well. Handle is sturdy and pretty, but the pins have some edges as does the spine of the blade through the handle which could be annoying. It’s an inexpensive Chinese knife that foots the bill really well dollar-for-dollar in my experience. Review: Most comfortable knife I ever put on my belt ! - This is a great hunting or fishing knife! Yes, the handle is somewhat small, however after putting it on my belt. I realized that is part of what makes this such a great knife. It rides on Your belt like it is not even there. The smaller handle unlike the normal large handle does not stick out and make it bulky while You are wearing it. Yet it is not so small that it is not fully useful while in hand. In other words it is a trade off, but it also makes this the most comfortable knife of this type I have ever worn. Yes it has some minor flaws that only become apparent .......when VERY closely..... scrutinized. None are noticeable during normal handling without over eye balling. Mine came sharp enough to shave forearm hair with. I feel You must consider these faults along with the price You are paying to be fair. I will gladly take these with this price without complaint. Make no mistake this is a comfortable, sharp, useful knife at a GREAT price. I will order several for gifts this year. Also the sheathe is nice, and I love how the snap is operated from front to rear(to unsnap). That really makes it easy to unsheathe while on Your belt. I also rubbed it with canola (cooking) oil and a paper towel and it made the sheathe look fantastic! Pull the trigger on this one. ## Features - HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS: Made from quality materials. 3CR13 mirror polished stainless steel blade with double blood groove provides an excellent balance of hardness and corrosion resistance. - OUTDOOR EVOLVED: Where the outdoors meets the gentleman’s carry. Like bushcraft stuff?** A: I don't know what you mean by bushcraft stuff but this is a well made knife that is blade heavy. If you're talking about weeding out flower gardens or limbs around a campsite it works well. The blade is 440 stainless and hold a great edge. It feels great in the hand and real good for skinning deer and making shoulder cuts with ease. **Q: what is the blade length?** A: Well the overall length is approx. 9.5", I have not measured the blade length, but guessing, I would say it would be about 6.5" long. Amazon sells knives with longer blades check them out and decide which is right for you. **Q: Blade thick?** A: Yes, it is a very thick, sturdy blade. **Q: Is thid good for field dressing a deer?** A: Yes you could field dress a deer with it. It's a good sturdy blade and it holds an edge really well ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I came back 3 years later to buy this knife again! *by B***T on March 23, 2020* I bought one of these in 2017 for myself. Well balanced and feels good in hand. The wooden handles and leather sheath gives it a classic "old school" look and feel. It came sharp enough out of the box that I didn't feel it was necessary to put a better edge on it. Perfect size for hunting, camping and hiking. The bad is that it's made in China so the craftsmanship in sub-par. The wood handles look very nice but are not aligned perfectly with the tang and there are some slight grind marks visible on the bade. The minor imperfections don't take away from the fact that it's a nice looking solid, multipurpose, functional knife. Well worth the price. I originally planned to use this as a beater knife but I've grown to like it so I think I will take good care of it and keep it with my more expensive knifes. ## Frequently Bought Together - Elk Ridge - Outdoors Fixed Blade Knife - 9.5-in Overall, Mirror Finished Stainless Steel Blade, Full Tang, Wood Handle, Leather Sheath - Hunting, Camping, Survival - ER-052 - Elk Ridge - Outdoors Fixed Blade Knife - 5-in Overall, 440 Stainless Steel Mirror Polished Blade, Burl Wood Handle, Leather Sheath - Hunting, Camping, Survival, Everday - ER-111 - Elk Ridge ER-059 Series Fixed Blade Hunting Knife, Straight Edge Blade, Wood Handle, 7-Inch Length --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/2258952-elk-ridge-outdoors-fixed-blade-knife-9-5-in-overall](https://www.desertcart.be/products/2258952-elk-ridge-outdoors-fixed-blade-knife-9-5-in-overall) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
