Bluebird Feeder (Set of 1)

Good product but didn't quite meet expectations.
I was looking for a feeder where I could feed mealworms and suet nuggets to bluebirds and keep the starlings out, and this feeder almost did the trick. The bluebirds were able to get inside and get to their food and the holes were too small for the starlings to get in. However, the starlings can stand on the perches and reach the food near the holes but can't get to the food in the middle. I'm thinking of removing the perches to see if that helps.

Bad product
Terrible product did not keep out large birds and the large birds were able to attack the small blue birds While they were inside. A waste of money.

Bluebird Feeder
Bluebirds and chickadees immediately came to the feeder and it kept the robins out. We fastened it to the railing on our deck and can watch them up close..... what fun!

blue bird feeder
I had high hopes that this feeder would attract the smaller birds and not the large ones or the squirrels, but NOTHING has used it for the last month. I would not recommend it.

Is that a real bird on the feeder perch photo ?
I waited weeks before I entered my review . This is an absolute waste of your money . The bluebirds laugh at me when they see me loading it up with dried meal worms . I have a flat plastic dish attached to the top of my fence post that cost me nothing and works a million times better than this thing does , Don't buy it !

I found that the birds do take the dried ones but I personally believe that the live ones are better for the birds
I have been trying to attract bluebirds and this January when I had the only water in a heated birdbath I got them and lots of Cedar Waxwings and of course the starlings came too. I hoped that the Bluebirds would stay. Everything but Bluebirds have been to this feeder. But that is OK. I have lots of little birds and the wrens are thrilled. I keep Bluebird pellets in all the time and add a helping of meal worms every morning. I use live worms not the dried ones. I found that the birds do take the dried ones but I personally believe that the live ones are better for the birds. The bigger birds have learned to stretch their necks and steal a pellet or two but the little guys are fearless! I have put up 5 new bluebird nest boxes and have hope for next year. I am going to get another of this feeder to put at the other end of the deck. Be patient, it took a while before the little guys worked up the courage to go in.

This is a good feeder, but the perches are like an engraved ...
This is a good feeder, but the perches are like an engraved invitation to starlings. I removed the perches yesterday (they are screwed in) and this has done a great job of discouraging the starlings. They still try, and maybe get one mealworm at a time, but before they were emptying the feeder. Bluebirds do NOT need the perch.
