Original part lasted for most of this run-time. On hot days with multiple short trips, engine wouldn't idle at startup. Had to cool the part and clean carbon from the valve to start and idle the engine. Aftermarket part from Napa was okay for a short time, but produced high idle at startup (cold or hot engine), surge and high idle with vehicle stopped (closed throttle) after a long drive on a hot day. Reuse the old one. I've done that a few times. Works every time. **Q: Will this work for 02 Mazda B 3000** A: If you know someone with a 02 to 05 ford Taurus you can take theirs off and look at it you will know. Takes about 2 minutes to take off. Don't loose the the screws! **Q: does this motorcraft cx1946 idle control valve fit the ford taurus 2002** A: I do not know, I would look up the 2002 part number and see if it is the same as this one. My car was a 2006, this unit did work. I do know that these are different for many models so do not buy it until you can confirm. **Q: Does this have a spring inside? Because my oem doesn’t have it.** A: I can't recall, but I don't believe so. Just an FYI, although the add claims it's OEM, it is not.
