Citizen is Billy Sherwood's 2015 concept CD, including 11 songs written with a theme: a lost soul reincarnated into various periods of history. Impressive guest stars include Chris Squire, Tony Kaye, Steve Hackett, Geoff Downes, Colin Moulding, Steve Morse, Jerry Goodman, Alan Parsons, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Jon Davison, Jordan Rudess and John Wesley. Billy Sherwood is a current member of Yes, handpicked by original founding member Chris Squire before his untimely death in June 2015. Review: Missing One Amazing Citizen - This has to be a bittersweet release for Billy. This is the last recording you will find with Chris Squire playing Bass with Billy. What I find rather haunting is the cover art with the three figures pictured like they are standing on posts and almost reminds one of the trinity. As far as the music is concerned, I find it to be what I would expect from Billy, great musicianship, very fine selection of quests and top notch performances by all. My favorite track is the last with Jon Davison who is currently the singer of YES. In a world where music has really fallen by the wayside with artist being signed based on looks and marketing practices it is refreshing to see that there are still artists that make quality music and put much thought into it. Thanks Billy and welcome back to YES, although it cannot be easy standing where once was a Gentle Giant! Review: Good storyline, needs better narration. - Interesting story line. Well played. Suffers somewhat from a lack of unity of players from track to track, would have benefited from a more powerful vocalist performing lead on each song. Still a very good CD.

... have already listened to over half of it and love it. Saw Billy live in concert with Yes ...
Received product and have already listened to over half of it and love it. Saw Billy live in concert with Yes in Des Moines, IA this past summer and beieved then that he really delivered the goods. If there is any doubt about the future of Yes which showcases Billy Sherwood's remarkable talent as a musician and singer, this would remove any in the reviewer's mind. This albumn reminds me of the Alan Parsons Project concept albumns of the 70s and 80s with a wide array of outstanding musicians making contributions from Yes, Genesis, Dream Theater just to name a few. . Billy plays most of the instruments and the song writing is very good. Would recommend this to any progressive rock fan.

This is the best music Billy Sherwood has ever produced--conceptually
Billy Sherwood is in his prime! This is the best music Billy Sherwood has ever produced--conceptually, musically and lyrically. There is not a weak track on it. If you liked the production values on a "Classic Rock Tribute to the Doors" and the songwriting on the first Circa cd, then this is for you. It adopts the best of those previous recordings and takes even bigger risks. I loved "Just Galileo and Me," "Empire," and Sherwood's chemistry with Jon Davison on the final track ("Written in the Centuries"), something that holds promise as YES moves forward. Squire would be proud!

Three Stars
Not as good as I thought it would be.

Billy has won me over!
I admit I am not much of a Billy Solo fan, however this disc takes away all of my criticisms of his previous work. Well crafted songs, A nice selection of guest artists that add just enough to the project without taking away from the flow of the story. unlike some of his previous work this does not feel rushed and I think he may have won me over with one.

I quite enjoy Rick Wakeman's and Geoff Downes' collaborations in particular
While this album doesn't do much in the way of breaking new ground, the songwriting is solid and the collaborations are quite tasteful. I quite enjoy Rick Wakeman's and Geoff Downes' collaborations in particular. The types of rhymes used in the lyrics can be a little repetitive, but the songs weave an interesting tapestry through the early 20th century.

Well done interesting prog concept album.
I wish I had this cd before I met you (out for a smoke in Albany @ the Egg) then maybe then I wouldn't have been so dumbfounded as what to talk to you about. I could probably discuss or listen to you explain how you got the idea longer than there was time for then. Interesting concept album, well done prog. MORE Please.
