Of the various sizes of McGizmos, the Micro is the best size for clipping items to a keychain
I purchased three sizes of the McGizmo--the Mini, Micro, and Nano--to test them for clipping items to a keychain.The Micro is the best size of all.In comparison, the Nano is a tad too small, which makes it hard to quickly clip the item on and off, while the Mini is unnecessarily large.The ideal size would be halfway between the Nano and the Micro. Since they don't make that size, it makes sense to go slightly larger and get the Micro, because the whole point of the clip is to allow for quick clipping and removal.For comparison purposes, the Micro is slightly longer and wider than the clip that comes with theĀ Essential Gear Pico Zipper Keychain Flashlight .Pro tip: check for this item on eBay before you buy on Amazon. I did that and ended up saving some money by ordering multiple clips and using the combined shipping option.

Jewel Clip (Pico size)
I bought three of these.Testing finds them to be stronger than El Cheapo Chinese made small split rings, which distort out of shape when tugged.The benefit of these McGizmo Jewel clips is obvious: take off keyring, place on keyring. (wax on / wax off)The Pico (smallest in the range) is tiny. I had a hell of a time getting a high-quality USA made stainless-steel split ringto fit. (mind you, we are talking about a size #5 , 0.334" O.D. complementing ring here).Out of the first three I got,two had VERY strong springs --- needed astonishing amount of force to push it with-respect-to the tiny size!!!!!!!!!The third of three was more as-like expected for thin wire spring ---- but I wish it was more tense like the other two.I plan on buying heaps more in the Pico size. [I hope I don't get arthritis later in life, or these'll be pesky. he he he]
