Is that correct?** A: Not a 6 pack. Only 1 Quart!!!! This is a mistake on someone's part. **Q: i have an 08 ram that requires 4oz of limited slip additive. does this oil have ENOUGH additive blended in? how much additive is added per qt?** A: I have an 07 f 150. I added no friction modifier a yr ago, however, noe i have chatter. Will be adding friction modifier soon. 4oz. Thats what was recommended in a Ford blog. Hope this helps. **Q: Does this help with Hard shifting? Anyone recommend a solution for me? Someone mention Motorcraft Friction Modifier. Would that work?** A: Some of it depends on the car. For example, I race a Miata and its not recommended to put non friction modified GL-5 grade gearbox oil in a Miata manual transmission. It's too slick and will make shifting difficult to impossible. Always use GL-4 grade oil for the manual transmission.Miata transmissions respond very nicely to the relatively expensive Ford Motorcraft MTF synthetic transmission oil with friction additives (FMFSMTF or XT-M5-QS). The ford MTF synthetic was developed for the difficult to shift Mustang gearboxes and contains special friction modifiers that allow synchromesh to work better than standard GL-4 fluid. This fluid is a lifetime replacement so it's cost is defrayed over time and the excellent shifting it provides. So depending on your car I would recommend the Motorcraft MTF. Its what I run in my race car. The Royal Purple I used in my Daily Driver BMW.Good luck. **Q: how much oil do I need for a 2008 Ram 1500 4X4 rear differential** A: If your rear end has LSD, then it's 4.4 pints. While the truck only has 40000 miles on it, I felt it was time to replace all of the fluids. Seeing Royal Purple used on several TV shows, I decided to give it a shot and replace all my truck's fluids with RP products. As a sidenote, my truck's limited-slip rear end has chattered when taking off or accelerating around a corner for several years. When I finally took it to the Ford dealer a year ago, they said they could put some "anti-friction" additive in it to fix it. Unfortunately, it didn't work. So, fast-forward to this weekend when I changed the rear differential fluid over to RP 75W-140 Max Gear lube. Lo and behold on the first test drive, there was no chatter whatsoever! The truck seems to be smoother driving as well, but that just may be my way of justifying the expense. Haven't completed the swap of all fluids, but will be interested to see the overall change in my truck and a hopeful increase to the gas mileage.
