Great Scope
Bought this for night boar hunting. Scope feels very sturdy and well constructed. Double A batteries are a plus. Have not had a chance to use it in the field yet but have taken it to the range several times and it definitely delivers. Turned the lights out on the 50yrd indoor range and hit the actual "X" 5 of 7 rounds in the pitch black (the other 2 were also bull-eyes, just not on the "X"). Very accurate! I love this thing so far..Only slight downside is that when used with the cap down, for daylight use, the magnification seems to go away and the image is a little blurry. But its a night vision scope, so I'm not sure you can really call that a downside when its not made for daylight anyways. All and all, if your looking for an affordable night vision hunting scope.. This is it!

Best price for a complete package
Since there are so many nightvision products to choose from this will make it easy...this one works great. However, you MUST read the instructions and for some that may take a few days. Nothing too complex, but it is a sensitive piece of equipment and isn't as easy to work straight out of the box as a standard scope...but it IS nightvision afterall.

HAD high hopes for this scope!!!
I Had high hopes for this scope . Worked very good when I received it,never even got to fire the rifle with it on though. I had used it in my backyard (handheld) for maybe 10 minutes. Mounted it on the rifle and set up to shoot on a moon lit night. Just as I was going to squeeze off my first round (sighting in) it stopped working! Checked switch on side of scope and found that the body of scope was extremely hot, something in it must have shorted out. Sad to see such poor quality. On a positive note, Amazon returns are very easy and that part of the purchase went well ! Decided to get refund and didn't replace it , maybe you just get what you pay for !!?? Henry

I am amazed at the clarity at night
I am still gaining experience with this scope. I am amazed at the clarity at night. It is so good one must use it with the lens cap and dot hole covering in the closed position. It seems you have to use the infrared beam to get the benefit of the night vision.

Love mine...saving for another
Starting my second hog season with this. My son and I now fight over the 243 with it. Zero problems with scope. 2 hogs down already. Holds tight zero. Easy to use in dark by feel only. Great picture. IR flood impressive on zero illumination nights. Saving to buy another one to put on 222.

Bum Unit? Easy Return so no worries
Not sure if I got a bum unit but in half moonlight I couldn't see a raccoon any better than the naked eye out at 20-30 yards. With the infrared illuminator it worked pretty well out to 70 yards or so in all conditions but, I didn't bother mounting it since it was weak without the illuminator and being returned. Seems like a quality made scope though, very rugged with nice controls and a good adjustable reticle. Of course Amazon was GREAT with their return policy so don't be afraid to try it. I decided to go with a military gen 2.

Night Vision
This has been a good introductory night vision scope. I added the doubler which helped, and added a streamlight Super Tac illuminator which gave me daylight at 100 yards. It has been very effective and has always worked well.Very Good construction.

Exceeds my expectations
I can't compare to the higher end models since I've never used one. This exceeded my expectations. I can easily identify animals at 75-100 yards in the darkest night. The resolution and magnification limits it to about 120 yards in favorable conditions with some moonlight. If you are wanting to shoot further than that you will need to get a better unit. Mine has a small blurry patch taking up a small percentage of the viewing area, but I don't find this to cause me any problems.
