Outstanding value
Excellent product, used on a Samson Q2U which due to the terrible drivers in windows, considerably lowers the microphone's input volume and this product easily resolved that problem adding further decibel range. Now using the SM7B and the combination is performing well with plenty room left in gain via the audio interface module. This is a very good alternative to the cloudlifter. It did introduce white noise via the Shure mic but it's easily eliminated in EQuing without any tonal manipulation. Really good product, plug and play not headaches attached.

Good value - works well
The little mic amp arrived well packed and I plugged it in straight away. I have some 1950s Film Industries M8 ribbon mikes, that work well with old analogue, valve equipment and a transistor Nagra recorder. However with modern audio equipment more gain is required. This little gizmo does the trick, lifting the signal by around 20dB whilst offering a compatible impedance for the mike. It operates from the +48v phantom power from the interface/mixer, but does not pass this through to the mike. This is important for older instruments. I did hatch up an battery powered op-amp lifter, but was disappointed by the noise. The Klark Teknik C1 has a low noise floor (I assume due to its use of FET semiconductors) whilst rendering mellifluous tones from my venerable old ribbon microphones. I have no hesitation in recommending this item to anyone requiring a boost to a mike signal.

Clean boost to gain.
Prior to this purchase I was running my Shure SM58-LC though a Behringer X1622USB mixer connected to a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre USB. I wanted to minimise my desktop clutter and free up some space. This little beauty works without issue and the difference is noticeable immediately with it's clean sounding boost and allowed me to cut the mixer out of the loop. Worth every penny!

Great bit of kit
Had looked around for a mic booster for a while now, I have the Rode Procaster which needs a fair whack of power to be sent through it that my Roland interface didn’t really provide. Went from being nearly maxed out on gain to running about 50%. Much better value than other options and voice quality is great. 10/10 would buy again.

Works Perfectly With my SM7B Microphone
I use a Rodecaster for my home studio but needed some more gain on my SM7B Shure Mic .For £24 this works perfectly .Genuine cloudlifters cost £125 .I tested both and could not hear any difference.Buy this and save £100

First Impressions - incredible!
It arrived today, and I immediately did an a/b with and without using a range of dynamic microphones I have lying around. I record a weekly sermon podcast and I've been struggling to get the sound just right - always needing the gain to be really high on the usb interface just to get a sufficient signal. This booster has totally resolved this - my gain is now just under 12 o'clock where it was previously pushing 4 o'clock, and the channel volume is likewise dropped down from max to around halfway. It's clean and clear - hasn't introduced any unwanted noise in the chain. What more could you ask for, especially considering it's under £20. Even using cheaper microphones, such as the AKG D5 and Behringer XM8500, it's made a significant difference in both volume and 'weighty-ness' of audio quality. Delighted.

Horrible screeching sound caused by boost
Crap product, forces me to use phantom power and then makes an awful noise with my mic turned on. Cannot recommend.

Completely transformed my dynamic microphone
To be clear, I don't use my microphone for any professional setting. I do use a Presonus PD-70 on a boom arm for chatting and have suffered with poor volume and a muffled sound from it despite the gain on my Presonus 26c interface being set to max/50db. Recently learned of these inline microphone preamps that add gain to your microphone using 48v phantom power from your interface and thought I'd give this one a go as couldn't justify the price of the others for a casual setting. Immediately, my microphone can clip from the settings I had before and it sounds much fuller reduced at about the 2-3 o clock position on the input gain volume on my interface. It feels much more like the microphone I'd heard when I bought it all of that time ago, and cannot recommend it enough for the money. It also feels very weighty in the hand and looks very well made, I expect this will last a long time. Klark Teknik is owned by Music Brands which is in turn owned by Behringer which apparently some do not like. In my opinion, this is a good thing as it's owned by a large brand. In love with this product ever since I plugged it in and tested it. 10/10

Works really well on my SM58. No noise or unnecessary feedback. allows me to reduce my gain on the mixer and boosts volume without feedback.

I think years ago there was a distinct lack of options on the market that allowed for prices to be way over reasonable for such products. Thankfully this has changed now and we have a few cheaper options that do pretty much the same thing for half the price or more in some cases. I don’t use mine every day but I’m sure you could and they would be fine.

For the price it's unbeatable. I really can't tell a noise difference when recording.
