Medjool Dates California

soft and sweet
Ours came very quickly, well wrapped, and they were soft and sweet. Even though it is a big box, it didn't last long, everyone ate them in a matter of days, and we are a small family. Try em.

The Tale of the Terrible Date
On the descriptor, it says these are organic. They aren't - or, if they are, they are not labeled as such. They are the driest dates I've ever eaten in my life - and I like them dry. I ate half of one and gave the rest of it to the chickens. They are dry, most likely, b/c the packaging is terrible. They are shipped in a cardboard box that totally permeates air. There is no exterior or interior bag or wrap to "seal in" freshness.About 10% of them were smooshed so horribly to the interior of the box lid that they became date spread - totally unusable for my intended purpose (chopping for trail mixes, cookies, etc.).The price is more than what I pay for organic at the local whole-xxxxs. I only ordered online for convenience - and now I'll have to be totally inconvenienced by returning the yucky things. If this was your first intro to dates, you'd hate them. Sad - b/c dates are (usually) awesome!UPDATE: I failed to mention that, after digging a little further into the box to see if I could find some usable dates, I found ANTS. Yes - ANTS!!! I don't know if there were ants in the warehouse or if they snuck into the box when the package was on my doorstep. BUT who cares? If it had been packaged correctly, it would not have happened. I contacted the company and they were happy to give me a refund AFTER I mailed them back their gross product at my expense. So I rinsed off the dates, pitted them and froze the ones I could for use in smoothies. Every time I use one, I'm mad! Grrrr.
