A dark mafia age-gap with a romantic heart
4.5/5⭐️I really enjoyed this dark age gap romance. It’s a bit of a slow burn, but it needs to be given the age of the FMC at the start and how she meets her saviour.Maximo may have murdered her father and taken her away from all she knows but he’s her villainous saviour who will destroy any and all who even think of threatening his Little Dove.Juliet is young but out of necessity she’s a strong emotionally mature character and our morally grey hero gives her time and the choice to walk away from his possessive desires. But who in their right mind would walk away from Daddy Max… well not me. Yes please and thank you.Juliet brings the occasionally bratty submissive to Maximo’s super strict Daddy. Yes she’s his caged dove, but his love, protection and adoration are nurturing and not restrictive.I found this dynamic written really well and it uplifts the story.

Wow
Such a feel good book, especially for a mafia story. I'm not usually a fan of mafia but this was highly recommended, and it really did not disappoint!!! Love a story that can make you laugh, and give you the warm fuzzies. 4.5 stars

So so good!!
I know when I’ve read a good book, when the 5 stars I get to give on my Kindle isn’t good enough and I just HAVE to write a review….Layla Frost is a new author to me, I found her when I read ‘Give In’ because mamma loves herself a student/teacher age gap romance. 🥰🥰 but Little Dove blew me away….it had the just the right amount of everything and made me fall in love Maximo & Juliet (although Maximo is very similar to Massimo and I had Michele Morrone living rent free in my head ENTIRE book 🥵🥵)I don’t mind the Daddy kink, and I totally get why it was explored in this story and it was done really tastefully. Despite Maximo’s control freak tendencies Juliet held all the power, don’t skip this if this sort of thing puts you off as you’ll miss out on a really good love story. There’s even a bit of humour at points thrown in usually from Juliet. If you’re thinking that’s she just another spineless female MC’s think again she was a bloody BADASS which worked with the Daddy kink and why that was needed in the plot development.I’m now off to go and buy this in paperback and add it to my smut bookshelf because this is one I know I’m going to read over and over again.

Such a pleasant surprise
Going into this book I had low expectations. I’m not a fan of the daddy k*nk as so far i haven’t had a good experience with it : its use has been random, awkward and quite cringey with no sign that that’s where the story was going. But I’ve read Layla Frost before so I thought I’d give her book a chance. And I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. First I really appreciated that they spent such long time learning about each other (ok Maximo was bordering on stalker but you know… potato/potahto) and they actually clearly discussed their hopes and expectations for the relationship. Juliet didn’t just start calling him Daddy out of left field and Maximo really made it a point to keep the lines of communication open and that made a difference for me in my enjoyment of the book.I also liked the mafia undertone of the story even if it wasn’t the main focus. The real drama/angst were kept to tolerable level and nothing unnecessary in my opinion. I appreciated the support offered by the other characters and that Juliet and Maximo’s love felt real.So while I’m still not a fan of this particular k*nk, Layla Frost managed to keep me engaged and interested instead of struggling with finishing the story.

funny and sexy
Surprisingly light and fun read. Has some dark elements but it doesn’t dominate the book. The mmc is such a sucker for his woman and only for her. Don’t get on his bad side though 😏 great writing, although the fmc was far too chipper when she was initially taken which i found rather annoying

Absolutely fantastic
I absolutely loved reading this book. The story was brilliant and I loved the characters.Maximo was a fantastic character. He was caring, tough, demanding, dangerous, possessive and charming all in one. I love him. I’m not the biggest fan of the Daddy kink, but holy hell, I’d call him Daddy without a second thought.I loved Juliet as well. She was tough after everything she’d been through, but she was also innocent and naive. I loved her growth and development through this book. The story was great. It was a good blend of a mafia plot alongside the developing relationship between Maximo and Juliet. I enjoyed the threats that they faced and how it all stemmed from Shamus.I loved their relationship. I loved how Maximo knew that it was wrong to want her and how he waited a year for her to turn 18. The age-gap may not have been right, but you can’t help who you fall in love with. He spent a year giving her everything she wanted. He allowed her to find who she is as a person, and then when the time was right, he made his move. He gave her the choice.I loved watching them grow close. She grew with him and he absolutely doted on her, giving her everything she could ever want. How could you not love him? The spark between them was fantastic and I loved watching them truly fall in love. The ending was brilliant, seeing how they were in future. Overall, this book was fantastic. The story was brilliant and the plot developed well. The characters were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this book.Jessreviews.co.uk
